Was never a fan of the "Well Hung Ploughboy" song or the whole genre, but there is some great guitar-ing going on here.

Rivers of my memory, indeed... :( worrying number of my antecedents have great physical longevity but ultimately succumbed to dementia, it's a cruel illness where often the person, the mind, the thing that made them what they were, is gone forever a long time before their body succumbs. They reckon more and more people will live to be 100, what they're not saying is what kind of life they are going to have - we're going to have  my mother's father had it and he went from fit as a fiddle and sharp as a tack at 80 to dead at 85... my mother sadly the same. She's still alive but I've already done my grieving because only the body remains but the mind, the person I knew and loved has already left us.

    RIP Glen.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all

I think Paul Denman (Sade) has the record for the highest played bass ever, possibly known as the 'Adam's apple style'.

    Great player though.

The Moody Blues there. Denny Laine was in The Moody Blues and in Wings.

When Paul McCartney was writing Penny Lane, I wonder if he knew he would one day be in a band with Denny Laine?

    I'll get my coat.

Nobody took on the mantle of the great Mr X this week?

I suppose it's a mark of respect, like when a football team retires a player's number..

Don't know what I'll do to find what's on though - do they still make the RTE Guide?

    Come back soon Mr X!

I started trying to do this in Skid's place, but I have to do it on my phone, and even this has taken about half an hour. So I left out Sky Arts.

Picked a good week to go on hols, mind. Slim pickings all over as far as I can see. T'Ain't even no pretend country on RTE.

    BBC FOUR FRIDAY:

19:30: BBC Proms2017, Charles Mingus Revisited

21:40: Blondie's New York... and the Making of Parallel Lines

22:30: Reading and Leeds Festival2017, Kasabian

    00:00: Totally British: 70s Rock 'n' Roll1970-1974

    01:00: Totally British: 70s Rock 'n' Roll1975-79

02:00: It's Only Rock 'n' Roll: Rock 'n' Roll at the BBC

    BBC FOUR SATURDAY:

    22:45: Top of the Pops17/05/1984

23:15: Billy Fury: The Sound of Fury

Bewitched is on RTE 1 tonight, but it's not a documentary about the chart smashing sisters of one of the Boyzone fellas from the 90's, alas, alas. It's that film about the 60's sitcom with Nicole Kidman. C'est la vie.
