Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

But what will you do without a project to keep you occupied during winter?

I think the boat at 4:48 would be a good new project. Big enough for all the family and enough shiny chrome and horsepower to fill a man's hart

Bought some sticky back teak affect flooring on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/95x35x5mm-Gold-Black-Marine-Boat-Flooring-EVA-Foam-Teak-Decking-Carpet-Mat/222564688850?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 to cover the back of the boat I bought enough to do the swim platform as well but now I feel it will be overkill if I do

I cut out a template using wallpaper backing and then cut out the flooring.

    10K HOLIDAY HOMES
New show coming soon to primetime ITV. This brand new format starts on August 7th and sees Julia Bradbury join forces with Max McMurdo as they go in search for a holiday home costing less than £10,000. The journey takes them all over Europe visiting people who have already taken on the challenge.

Not sure what week the boat will be on but will let you know when I do :)

Well it looks like tv3 will be taken over by virgin media on the 30th and there is no listing for "My 10k holiday home" :( so the only way to see it is on itv tomorrow night if you add it to your channels on sky.

Looks bloody fantastic, though - next time I'm even vaguely in the vicinity of Athlone I'll invite myself for a looksee!

Great to see Fergal, pity it was so short. Surely an opportunity for some enterprising filmmaker to do something deserving of the inspiration and spirit you have shown and thankfully shared here with us. Thanks again for bringing us all on your journey and for keeping this little corner of boards such a friendly and helpful place. Now get back out and find 'Olds Cool' and restore her !

    Hi Fergal,

Congratulations, fantastic renovation and conversion i.e. I'm really impressed at how modern you it now looks.

I have a boat where the engine (Perkins 4107) was submerged.

Do you have any information about what was done to get the engine going again?

    Thanks

    Adrian

It can depend on a few things, was the engine running when it was submerged, how long has it been out of the water " it's best to get it running as soon as you take it out of the water" if it was salt water you could be in trouble. Take out your injectors and fill the chambers with diesel, remove the sump and clean, clean out the fuel tank add new fuel and pump it through new filters and water separator till it comes out the injectors, you can run some old engine oil through the a few times changing the filters each time and before you run clean oil. Get the engine running hot as soon as possible and spray all electric with compressed air and then WD40. I'm sure there is more but that should save the engine. Best of luck.
