It does say 20% off with 100 ubi-points. Don't know how hard they are to come by but suddenly the collectors box isn't *that* bad. It calls it a figurine, not an Amiibo...

    Which one?
    Mario
    Or
    Rabbids?

A new idea on a Nintendo system, using Nintendo IP in an original way, what's not to applaud?
Plus, a tactical turn based game as well, Gollop will be proud.

I'd take that special edition over the $799 edition they announced for Assassins Creed Origins.

    Wish I was joking.

About Rabbids though, it really was something else to see the developers of it get fairly emotional over revealing it. The lead designer (I think) in the crowd was barely holding not to tear up. A game good or bad, it's many years work for a lot of people.

Looks bloody great... I love it. I'm very pleasantly surprised.

It's definitely not your Mario for the under 10s either - it looks like it has some juicy, grown-up, tactical gameplay.

When the lead developer was announced in the crowd. Really nice moment. Little backstory to this as well is that in 2002 he once camped out for 10 hours to meet and get Miyamoto's autograph when he found out he was in his hometown of Milan. 15 years later Miyamoto is presenting the game he directed on stage at E3.

Had heard the rumurs, and saw pics of Mario and Rabbid Mario with guns.....feared worst.....could not have expected X-Com x Mario.

And has Grant Kirkhope doing music.....damn, that Switch purchase might be sooner than I had first estimated.

Also, someone spotted one of Luigis special attacks.....the legend lives on!

Yeah I loved that bit. Clearly an absolute dream come true for that dev to have Miyamoto present his Mario game. Can't say I wouldn't be a blubbering mess if I was in his shoes either!

The game itself looks great as well both visually and from the gameplay I've seen so far.

He ran out of negative spin.

Looks like a fun game, I'll wait for the reviews but I don't think I'll be passing this up. Bit of X-Com, bit of Mario, bit of Military Madness, can't wait :)

Seems the reveal surprised everyone in how it looks and how it plays. Don't think it's my cup of tea but hope it does well

I'm very excited by this. Nintendo haven't taken a gamble along these lines since giving Mario to Square to make Mario RPG on the SNES. If this turns out as good, we'll be in for a classic.

It looks like it's got potential, I'm looking forward to hearing some hands-on impressions on it. It's definitely one that could go heavily either way!

Great preview here on Nintendo Life:

    http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/08/preview_jumping_into_the_crazy_world_of_mario_plus_rabbids_kingdom_battle

Sounds like Ubisoft have put a lot of love into this game - looks like it will be deep, funny and a great challenge. Watch the 15 minute video - lots of new footage.

Out 4 weeks from today too...

Ya, I was reading that. It looks lovely if nothing else. I'm sure it'll be very good. I think there must have been some embargo as I seen a few previews pop up during that hour. The only negative I've heard is it's a very short game.
