    If you make it more expensive, you're putting a price on democracy. Should neighbours not have a right to object to projects that may destroy their neighbourhood? Should only the rich have that right?

    I completely agree with you here. But, alas, it would be too sensible for the relevant organizations to fathom :(.

    In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there were organizations with a vested interest in the chaos on the M50, holding it back.
