Once again, suggesting that Internment of radicals is being touted as THE solution,or the only obvious solution is being disingenuous,as at best it can only act as an element of a broader scale response.

I dealt with the entirety of the post I quoted, here it is again...
Eventually Europe will understand that internment for anyone on intelligence watch lists is the only way to control these scum it's just how many more innocent people have to die before they see the light!
    AlekSmart wrote: »
Or....perhaps doing nothing at all may well be a legitimate response ?

So you think the only option to internment is doing nothing?

And as internment has failed wherever it was tried, has seen an upswing in terrorism in places like NI and has no realistic chance whatsoever of being allowed in the EU, your solution is some fantasy with more violence...or nothing at all?

Spain= part of coalition in Afghan war.

I'm sure they were involved in other previous wars.

Isis believe and have said that their religion demands they attack "infidels" wherever they find them.

There is No need to go that extra step of trying to find "incriminating" political reasons behind why they attack.

He is widely regarded as the founder of ISIS. But even disregarding that you acknowledge here the connection between ISIS to Al Qaeda and their origins in the Mujahideen fighting against the Soviet rape of Afghanistan.

Im no fan of the US they armed the Jihadis to thwart the Soviets who were protecting "The Democratic Republic of Afghanistan"

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Cyclone

    Some things never change.

Still though its not the reason that these attacks are happening in Europe now.
ISIS would claim any Islamic attack going so I'd be fairly sceptical of their claims of involvement...Islam has more than enough passages in the Quran to justify these attacks.

Seems as though at least 7 or 8 people were involved in this attack. This isn't a lone a wolf incident. This is IS or AQ.

Jihadist terrorists according to the Spanish PM.
Between them and the 'people with mental issues', its getting pretty dangerous in the cities of Europe.

There is another and much easier way of doing it, the way they are doing it in Poland and in Hungary. They have refused to accept ANYTHING on the long list of problems that comes with trying to integrate Muslims into their society and it's simply not up for negotiation.

So no need for security bollards on every street, no need to tell their citizens that they can't bring a backpack to a football game, no need for the likes of what is happening in Paris tonight where there are armed military personnel on every street, no need to pay 10,000 intelligence officers to try keep tabs on 3,000 extremists or people who may be carrying extremist views.
If only we had politicians like that . The proof of the pudding is in the eating .

They will not have these islamic problems if they keep islamists out...100% effective .

Las Ramblas back open for business already. F u ck you Jihadi scum.

Seems like 5 at the second attack, 3 at least at the first and one dead at the bomb factory. The worry must be how many bombs did the bomb factory produce and how many more are waiting to attack out there.

Seems that as long as Germany is ok with this, we all have to be. Ho Hum.

And Merkel will be re elected aswell according to the polls there.

Better get back in our boxes so. We will not have any say it seems.
Merkel is the Supreme Leader of Europe and as usual when the Germans lose the run of themselves........they fook everything up....

The whole problem is within Islam, but nobody dares speak about it,it offends them.Politicians are cowards, and media tries to cover the truth best thay
Douglas Murray is a hero . He is a brave man . There are so many cowed by the violence of Islam .

Douglas Murray . I salute your courage and belief in free speech .

we encourage this medieval religion that treats women as inferior to men, treats homosexuality as a sin that requires people who are homosexual to be executed.

Islsm requires homosexuals to be executed? Sorry but that is absolute and utter nonsense. Yes there is death penalty in some countries but it is complete and utter bunkum suggesting the religion requires it.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

It was very popular to paint the Aussies as intolerant with their zero tolerance immigration stance. Their message is clear, if you try to enter Australia without a visa you will never end up Australia.

If you want to emigrate to Australia you must go through the immigration or asylum process where you will be fully vetted and processed. The idea of boats of unknowns being ferried to Europe’s shores is madness even if only a few are bad.

There is some movement at the moment in stopping the NGO ferry services but expect it to
be taken up a notch by Italy and Spain to control the southern borders and the med.

The Australians have a very successful template for dealing with unwanted immigration .

It tells us all we need to know that our politicians and european politicians do not adopt this highly successful template .

Our politicians and european politicians are traitors to their own people .

Spanish Police don't mess around! Fair play to them for ending these scumbags lives before they killed more innocent people!

Heros all of them ..... who knows how many lives they've saved

5 tiny brains splattered across the Spanish promenade this morning. Excellent work by the police. Grind up the carcasses now for animal fodder.

A lot I'd imagine as the 5 scumbags in the car were wearing suicide belts.

These threads always bring out the 'wait-for-news-before-speculating' types.

Fcuk off! As if this was ever going to be an accident.

    Do-gooders.

But it could have been the Catalans and their dislike of tourism. Just like the speaker blown at the concert...

It's funny how you're allowed to speculate all the things that could have happened that were not Islamic terrorist related.

I'm just reading that now.....imagine the carnage if they had gotten away!

Reports too of an explosion in a house - seemingly a bomb maker got taste of his own medicine.

It's not IS or AQ. It's immigrants or their children from Muslim countries.

All too familiar now, you just know. It's so sad what Europe has become. Our leaders are complete traitors to us. They should be protecting us. Not inviting every Mohammed, Allah and Farrah here to blow us up at every opportunity.

I'm going to Dublin next week, I don't even feel safe!

Based on what we've seen after previous attacks those families are probably neck deep in fanatical Islam too - at the very least they probably knew what their sons were involved and likely did nothing to stop them.

    No sympathy from me sorry

That's hardly reason to put their bodies through meat grinders for animal fodder??

Noone deserves that, find it hard to fathom someone claiming to be civilised and support such actions

So people who rape & murder innocent adults and children deserve a send off then?

RTÉ reporting that a naturalised Irish man and his family (originally from PhillippInes) have been injured by the van attack.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,544 ✭✭✭Samaris

Thanks to the forces that a second attack was foiled and god help those that were there at the first. Superb work by the security forces who prevented another atrocity.

An Irish family was caught up in the attack, parents and two children. Reports indicate that "some family members" were seriously injured, but none life-threatening.

These attacks are getting fewer, as ISIS get pushed into ever-smaller bits of territory. They are losing, and those five that were killed before they could wreak more havoc will be a major loss to the murderous Islamist ideologues. Europe will outlast this brand of terrorist scum, as it has withstood previous rounds of fundamentalists who place their beliefs in terror and domination over the worth of human life.

There is no upside to a mass murder. But they are losing.

To any Muslim people who might be reading this thread - only fools blame the innocent, and the majority know that you are not to blame for what others do in the name of your religion any more than I as a white person am to blame for the murder in Charlottesville.

I mourn those lost - murdered for nothing but being in there, and I stand with my fellow Europeans against fundamentalism and hate. -We- will get through this awful period for peace for all Europeans, regardless of colour, race or religion.

    Emm yes I guess?
Not one I'd be particularly enclined to attend admittedly (hint-religon/cerimonies are bolix)

Don't see how putting people through grinders to become animal fodder has become so popular ...but boards deos tend to attract oddballs....but each to their own

Are we to assume this is what you've planned for your send off?

I see Spanish security services have warned all citizens to be extra careful today as its possible other terrorists are prepering attacks.
