Those lads were here legally, working and on good money. Similarly with a few Chinese I know. Or do you think all houses and jobs should be given out on an Irish-first, EU-second basis?

Indeed. The hardline Islamists are fascists who regard everyone who isn't like them as subhuman, fit only for death, rape or slavery. Liberal, tolerant, democratic, progressive, gay-hugging, increasingly secular, dancing, singing, boozing, bacon butty-eating Ireland represents everything the rabid Islamist hates about the west.

It was very popular to paint the Aussies as intolerant with their zero tolerance immigration stance. Their message is clear, if you try to enter Australia without a visa you will never end up Australia.

If you want to emigrate to Australia you must go through the immigration or asylum process where you will be fully vetted and processed. The idea of boats of unknowns being ferried to Europe’s shores is madness even if only a few are bad.

There is some movement at the moment in stopping the NGO ferry services but expect it to
be taken up a notch by Italy and Spain to control the southern borders and the med.

Spain is going to have a national day of mourning on Sunday the 20th of August.

The BBC are reporting from various sources that Driss Oubakir has handed himself into police after seeing his face in the media. Mr Oubakir also claimed that van rental documents were stolen by his brother. He also said was over 100km away from the attack site in Barcelona in Ripoll in Girona.

A video report on CNN included a eyewitness saying that mothers and small children were lying on the street dead after the attack.

And to think there are people celebrating the deaths of those innocent children..children whos only dislike was probably eating vegtables or going to bed early. They didnt dislike muslims or offend Allah. But there are people who are right now celebrate and rejoice in the victory of snuffing out their short innocent lives by plowing into them with a f*ckin van..

I wish theyd catch the driver kneel him down in the street and put a bullet just behind his ear and f*ck his muslim burial ritual

Europe is so soft, isis dont attack America because if they do their countries will be bombed back to the stone age, and rightly so.

Wer a bunch of pussies who won't even defend ourselves. Press conferences about going about our daily lives as normal to " not let the terrorists win" . **** all use that is to the victims and their families.

    Shameful, cowardly bull****.

Sadly this incident, along with so many others will fade after tomorrow.

But it will not fade in the lives of the bereaved or those looking after the injured.

Media will always look for the next one.

24 hours seems to be the maximum attention span.

    So awful.

Theres an ugly truth to human nature that is commonly brushed over. That is to say, we look after our own. Birds of a feather flock together etc etc.

If there were other alien-inhabited planets in our solar system, its I quite natural that we, as humans, would consider all people here as family. Earth would come first in a pinch. If there was plenty of X to go around, sure, we'd probably share.

Its the same across the board. You'll look after people from your own "continent" first, being that they are more like you, closer family than another continent. The payoff is that you take care of your family, there is a likely return of the care. (not to mention the genetic imperative, of course.)

In our case, we'll tend to look after Irish people ahead of, say, French people. After that, Roscommon people will generally band together against other counties, football games, government infrastructure etc. Vested interest in their future by banding together.

After that your local community will come ahead of the next one over, be it friendly school competitions or whatnot. Its in your benefit to look after your community first.

Then your family will come ahead of your neighbours family. Only one place at the school? Hey, if that's the only way, then you'll want YOUR son to get it over the neighbours son.

All of this happens because it is beneficial to us. Its not nice, but that is life. Even male lions will kill the cubs of another male lion so that the mother only shares resources with HIS offspring, to ensure HIS family comes first. Its biology at its finest and most brutal.

SO!..........to get back to your question. Yeah, if we were brutally, and PRACTICALLY thinking, yeah irish houses and irish jobs should go to irish people ahead of everyone else. Because, as irish people, we are more likely to benefit from helping other irish people.

Once you accept that fact, it makes life much easier to understand. And please note, we exist under the rules of nature, not idealism. It will never change.

Are there really? Really? Are there fcuk!

Untimely death is always an egregious tragedy, the death of children even more so. Anyone who can't see needless death, be it at the hands of a cowardly murderous radicalised wanker or the result of a tragic road traffic incident as equally monstrous and preventable is nothing but a useless good for nothing cnut, pardon my French.

While there is a lot that can be taken from the Australian approach, they have been accused of numerous human rights violations in recent years because of this approach. Hundreds of children detained and serious reports of sexual assault, medical negligence and starvation. That's certainly not something to aspire to.

The media is out of control. There is bound to be some totally new system on the horizon, and I doubt its going to be fun. The internet itself has turned so many people in to blind slaves of certain ideologies, its ironic that with ever more availability of information we have closed our minds all the more.

Its hard to imagine what the families of those murdered people will feel about all this, now and into the future. I wouldn't be counting on them being fans of political correctness though, at a minimum.

This state of affairs cannot last. It will crack, and the longer it takes to crack, the greater the pressure builds and the greater the explosion will be.

I don't think any rational person anywhere would disagree with you on that point. If we had a much more complete picture of the suspected number of kids being killed today in Barcelona; they along with many other adults would largely be known to be completely innocent to these jihadist muslims. This group of jihadists are a complete sick bunch of people. They are simply are a group of nutjobs and should rot in the most harmful realms of hell for their heinous crimes against humanity.

There is more information on the house that exploded in Ancalar overnight on Wednesday. It is now believed by local police near that region that people were building an explosive device before the house exploded. Police also say that an accumulation of propane and butane gas was responsible for the explosion.

One spanish person was killed in the explosion and seven people were injured.

They aren't really, they are just not indulging in semantics.

Given that it is now running at an attack a week taking place or foiled then it won't be long again till we can see the latest reactions.

If I, as an Irishman, had a Japanese passport, and then proceeded to blow the ever-loving **** out of building in Tokyo........do you REALLY think, I mean REALLY, REALLY think, that the Japanese would report it as "Japanese national blows up building"?

If I was born in Japan to irish parents, would it make even the slightest bit of difference to the Japanese?

This whole BS about certain people being born in a place and are therefore just the same as the natural people of that country....its for the birds, man. It just goes to show how far we have bent over that this is even entertained.

    Nonsense.

It is a disposable society (apart from those deeply affected by such terrorism).

Where do we get our next top post on Boards, Reddit, FB whatever. I'm sure you understand. MSM is only catching up and prostituting themselves for footage sometimes.

It cannot last. Attention span will go down to five minutes. NEXT....

Everyone as a singular is prone to a psychotic break when you add layers of Complexity and external pressure.

They will break at their weakest point.

The same rule applys to a group, country, species.

Well, fortunately as humans and not animals, we see things in various shades of grey instead of black and white.

I would gladly give an apartment to an educated, employed foreigner over an Irish lad on the dole. At least that guy is contributing to society via taxes. Obviously if it was down to a last school place and it was my child over another, of course I'd compete. If there was a crisis though, I'd help my friends and neighbours first, regardless of ethnicity, colour or creed, rather than some randomers that just happen to be Irish.

If you can't find an Irish person to do a job, obviously you'll look elsewhere. If we stop companies hiring those people, they won't take substandard Irish people instead, they'll just pack up and move. And we also have to take the other end of the scale into consideration- there's plenty of jobs that many Irish people won't do because they're "too good" for it. Look at California at the moment - the immigrant crackdown has resulted in a serious lack of labourers, you don't see Americans lining up to take those jobs despite all the complaints about foreign workers.

Absolutely amazing to see the same few people in every one of these threads trying to obfuscate discussion of anything migrant or islamic terror related.
Don't let constant islamic terror get in the way of your progressive ideology guys. Keep up the good work.

Why should I accept ANY dilution of my standard of living in this country, let alone the wholesale destruction of my standard of living that I have witnessed in this country in the last 10-15 years, in the name of a warped political ideology known as "multiculturalism" that has been aggressively pushed by a class of EU political elites who will NEVER EVER in a million years, have to compete once with the same people who they are inviting to join our society from non EU countries, for scarce resources that exist in our society, for example housing, employment and healthcare?

These same people, the EU political class, have been imposing austerity all across the EU on the one hand, and on the other hand, have been pushing more and more and more people into our economies, that these guys have wrecked, and not content with wrecking EU economies through austerity and forced bank bailouts, they then impose the introduction of millions of new citizens, thereby driving down the price of labour, but at the same time the price of housing, etc, rises because there are all these new people competing for the same resources! Then these same EU elites have the fúcking neck to come on the television and tell people on a monthly basis now every time we have another one of these atrocities, "WE WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED!", "WE MUST MAINTAIN OUR CORE VALUES!".

We were bet long ago because there is no sorting out this problem now, it is here to stay and it's going to get a lot worse. It will end in rioting on a scale previously unforeseen across the EU in the not too distant future I reckon.

    Or 2nd generation refugees.

This is the key point that's often shouted down in these threads. The issue isn't usually with refugees and migrants, it's second and third generation immigrants. That's a much more difficult problem to solve though so people focus instead on rabble, rabble close the borders.
