The Argos website are showing it for 719 again also.

It looks like not being able to make it to the ilac yesterday after work has priced me out of this

If you have a reservation then you will still get at the reserved price.

I'm sending the missus in for it this afternoon under strict instructions of not to buy it for 700, so I'm hoping you're correct.

You're entirely at the mercy of the staff in store on that one, I'm afraid. In the same way as those of us that reserved at 329 got the on-the-day price of 304, Argos are entirely within their rights to charge you 719 for it today, regardless of the price it was reserved at. They clearly state the price you pay is the price in store on the day. Having said that, plenty of people have gotten the good side of the staff, so this isn't to say you won't get it at the lower price.

Halfords, by contrast, are a retailer whereby the price at which you reserve/order it is the price you pay on collection, even if the in store price is different.

I'll tell herself to kick up a fuss and see if that works.

You will be charged 700, it's the price on collection day, not the reserved price. Can you let me know how you get on as I have one reserved as well?

Has their policy changed? I've often reserved an item only for the price to increase on collection day. Never had an issue as long as I could prove the price on the day I reserved the item.

The Argos website says the price you pay is the price listed on the day.

Yes, it seems to have changed, this info is now noted on the email sent re reserved item, i.e. the price one pays is the current price on collection day, not the reserved price. I am due to collect today, will wait to see if any one from boards collects today and the price they were charged.

Unless it had changed in the meantime temporarily, it has been that way for over 10 if not 15 years. I even remember listening to messages stating the same thing on the phone way back when before website ordering was a thing for them and their catalogues actually still got used!

Had a reservation for Ashbourne (I live nearby). Reserved last Friday or Saturday to collect when in stock. I've used this twice before and it's never worked so u wasn't hopeful, but it did today. Rang up at €719, when I said very politely "oh, i reserved it at €303" (it was actually €329 when I reserved it) she checked the computer and said "yes, you did" and I got it at €303. Delighted. Will give the auld lad my D5200 now.

For anyone in a similar note I think being nice only helps your chances, rather than kicking up a fuss from the outset.

When I bought my PS4, I had reserved it at €250. It was over €300 when I went in. I said it to the girl that it was reserved at €250 and she was able to check the price history and gave it to me for €250.

I remember being told before by a staff member that Argos price changes are made on Tuesday overnight every week.

I just called in to collect, was supposed to be in store for collection from 16th to 18th, did not come, I queried if the reserve price would be honoured and lady confirmed it would be, she confirmed the item was scheduled to arrive yesterday. I live in hope.

Prices change nearly every day though? Otherwise we'd be looking at pricescanner only on Wednesday mornings.

Just repeating what I was told, but sure staff have been known to be wrong before.

Collected mine this morning in Drogheda.

Assistant asked for €719 but I showed her my email confirmation and price was €330.

I didn't feel brave enough to push further for the even lower price.

It's positive to know people are getting this at reserved price and also that it is noted on boards as I will screenshot this and show in store if I'm refused the reserved price.

It says €303 on the touchscreen tills at least in the argos I went to as of 20 mins ago. But the price has gone back up in the main customer service till.

No problems getting it for €303
