It's a great price. Even lower than the entry-level Nikon D3300.

I paid about €600 for my D5100 (a few years ago now) and that was a good price at the time.

Seems to have dropped to 303.99 now, pity its oos everywhere, well it says it can be ordered for collection on sat but then says oos when you try and reserve.

Those lucky enough with a reservation code, make sure you check latest price upon collection. I collected mine yesterday for €329.99, today is €26 cheaper, ah well.

There have been two released since this one, the D5500 and D5600, the latter announced in November 2016 so pretty recent. Delta between them all seems fairly small though: https://www.dpreview.com/products/compare/side-by-side?products=nikon_d5300&products=nikon_d5500&products=nikon_d5600

There's a few newer models since this has been released. I guess they're just clearing old stock.

I've one reserved in Wexford that I won't be collecting as it's not a big enough upgrade over my current Cannon.

Just a tip, I think you and people should be saying first to quote as it stops the same people hovering them up as no doubt the scabby traders are crawling out of bed and hoping to make a few quid off these.
