So, because Nate's reach advantage wasn't of use to him..... it should then follow that McGregor's won't be either when he faces Floyd?? Ha!

The answer is no, it doesn't negate my point...... laughable that you would suggest it does.

McGregor has the raw natural talent to be able to exploit his reach advantage... especially given how precise his punching is. You would need an example of Floyd fighting someone (within the last ten to fifteen years) who had a reach advantage on him (and which didn't help them) in order for my point to be negated.

And to cut the strawman arguments off at the pass......... I am not suggesting that McGregor will beat Floyd but his reach advantage is without question advantageous to him and without doubt one of the things which Floyd could struggle with and which therefore gives Conor a chance in this fight........ all be it a slim one.

Ok so let me get this one right, so I am clear.

You are saying that Conor has an advantage because of his reach, yet I give you an example of a fighter he faced that had a longer reach, but that doesn't matter because...well, because Conor. Right?

We don't need any example of Floyd fighting someone with a reach advantage for anything, any fighter he has fought in the last 10-15 years he has beaten, some had more power than Floyd (Canelo, Maidana, Mosley) and some were faster (Judah, Pacquiao), yet he beat them all.

    Odd.

If anything Conor's long rangy arms will be a disadvantage in a boxing ring boxing. Think about it.....

Watched the Mayweather interview with ESPN's Stephen A Smith. For me it was Floyd talking himself down, and talking Conor up to sell the fight. The more people he can convince that Conor has a chance, the more money he will make.

I don't believe that Floyd believes a word of what he is saying. It's purely for promotion and nothing else.

Floyd is also guilty of race batting, Pushing the Conor is a racist narrative, again to further promote the fight and sell more PPV buys.

McGregor going on about his upbringing, like Crumlin is the equivalent of down town Compton, is laughable.

He is peddling lies about Dublin to add to the narrative of a tough upbringing. American's have no idea that he is full of shyt and they eat it up.

    Draw
    That's what compubox is for.

I don't see any McGregor fans stepping up to take my money on the under 50 punches landed bet either way.

I'll take your money. How much you putting up?

    €500 sound ok with you?

    Conor on points
    €500 sound ok with you?

Good bet . Canelo only landed 1/5 of the punches he threw . That means Conor would be doing well to land 1/10 thats being generous of what he throws .

So he would have to throw 500 punches . The fight wont go on long enough for that .

You're laughably trying to negate my point that reach will be to Conor's advantage based on one fighter having a reach advantage and it failing to help them...... but that's illogical, as had Nate not had a reach advantage on Conor, he would have done even worse than he did in that second fight. So it did help him......... but just not enough to prevent him getting a hammering.

Yes, he beat them all and he will most likely beat Conor too. But that doesn't mean that Conor's reach advantage won't be a plus for him.

I don't think you have a clue what point you're even trying to make at this point.

As ever, you just end up saying that Mayweather is gonna win..... yeah, I agree, which is why I only give McGregor a slim chance in the fight and if he didn't have that reach advantage...... I'd give him an even slimmer one than I already do.

Sure. Obviously with the line being moved so far in your favour, I'd want to balance the odds significantly. Somewhere between 5 and 10 sound about right to me. Split it down the middle?
    My €75 to your €500.

Im not trying to make a point, you are, and I am arguing against that.

What advantage does reach give if you are lacking in skills over all? None, thats what.

Just as with Nate, he had reach and some over Conor, yet in the second fight he was put on the ground a handful of times. His reach played in his favour in the first fight though when he landed on him. You can say that Nate would have gotten even more of a hammering in the second fight if he didn't have the reach all you want, doesn't make any difference to what happened on the night.

Having a longer reach doesn't automatically mean an advantage, especially against a faster fighter like Floyd. The punch takes longer to travel, which gives more time for reactions for the counter fighter/puncher.

So I guess that is my point then, having reach over a fighter means sod all if the other fighter is faster and also a counter puncher.

No I was looking for a straight up bet, admittedly not with you more the Mcgregor fans who are adamant that their man can and will win, if I was looking for odds I'd simply lay the market on betfair or create one.

Genuine question. I hear a lot of people talking about McGregor's punches being precise or accurate. They may very well be. Can someone direct me towards the evidence though? I am genuinely asking.

He did have lovely timing to catch that Brazilian lovely but from my memory when I saw a clip of it the Brazilian was "falling in".  I think I remember McGregor knocking out some other fella cleanly but that fella was walking back and turning away, or trying to get away, and was bollixed and had his chin up.

I mean, has he only been punching MMA fellas who are probably more focused on not getting kicked or wrestled to the ground? Or are there any of them that would have movement of combinations. Are there any examples of him winning an exchange of punches where both were trying to simultaneously throw combinations

Will he just be hitting fresh air on the night? My money would be on that

How is that North Korea thing goin ?

Floyd's having an open workout which is starting in about 25min. Anyone see the recent pictures of him? Might have been on here. I haven't really followed this thread in a few days. He's looking ripped.

You're offering to bet 500 quid than Conor lands 49 punches or less by official Compubox numbers?

What happens if Conor or Floyd KO the opponent with the first punch they throw?

Then the bet is won by TRDA obviously?

The boxingscene stream seems to be more sturdy.http://www.boxingscene.com/live-stream-floyd-mayweather-media-day-las-vegas--119366... I think Ellerbe deserves a big drink after this.

Well that's ridiculous. Conor KO's him 1st punch Snatch-style and the guy wins the bet for under 50 punches where the whole point of the bet was to rubbish Conor's chances.

    Seems legit.

From memory you could get that bet at 11/10, but it may have been 7/4, hell it could have been 4/7 in fact!? I didn't pay it too much attention just came up in one of the markets I looked at a while ago when putting money on.

Was it mentioned? Probably missed it, both fighters have asked the NSAC to allow smaller gloves.

Edit: Floyd really doing his bit to sell this fight, using everything he can to drum up interest.

Both men doing it of course, probably slightly concerned at the less the expected interest so far
