You'd think some header would be trying to wind us up......now they are winding us up by not winding us up......

Just watching Sunday game, the bucks on it think Mayo and Roscommon are not going to test the mighty three of Dublin, Kerry and Tyrone.

Based on current form, they have no reason to believe otherwise. Mayo have stumbled through the championship and have teetered close to the edge on more than one occasion. I personally believe that Mayo would perk up at the chance of getting at Kerry and Dublin specifically, but to dismiss form and think that they're going to completely change and win an All Ireland at this current stage would be a bit much.

We have not been playing well and we were not playing well this time last year as well. The only thing is that AOS is playing better this year. I agree we have not shown anything of worth but we have lots of quality players so if they can turn the corner you just never know. i really hope they can start to show some form and really step up starting tomorrow.

When you have a Mayo forward line up that cannot score, perhaps they have a point.

Yep I totally agree with the hope that the next game is the one that they put in a performance, but unfortunately it never seems to happen this year.

I've written this team off, but that is as much to ease my own disappointment when they lose as anything else.

They are still capable of getting to a SF and beating an overrated Kerry, and possibly winning it all.

They just have to keep digging deeper.

Later today will tell a whole lot (or maybe it won't, as has been the case all summer).

Fingers crossed we can finally see a convincing performance today that will ensure we will come out the right side and give us a bit of hope as we progress deep into the championship.

TBF to the three wise men on TSG there's little thus far in our championship form that would indicate we can challenge the big three.

Billy joe as usual spot on on the podcast
He is a great analyst . The type that should be on TSG .

BJP was very much advocating that they start the young guys and bring on the experience as the game required.

    Wonder if it will happen.

Based on the team it obviously won't but there are usually a few changes.

There will be fresh legs starting I'd expect

It was not who's analysis of Cillians performance . He was tired and tired himself more by trying too hard !

I don't see any great analysis out of him tbh.

He brings up Andy finishing games when it suits, it wasn't mentioned when Andy was playing well. One of his recent articles was about how Cillian should take longer over his frees... he's opting for starting Kirby now, just for something different. When gently pushed on why Kirby, he said it was more about shaking things up!

Tbh, I've seen better analysis on here. I think he's a smart guy and manufactured himself into one but I've yet to read or hear him say any great insights.

His young guys were Kirby, Coen and Drake. Saying that we should throw in youngsters sounds great until you hear it's Kirby and Drake. I can't see them adding much tbh and it's more of a risk than anything... I would be working Coen into the team.

It remains to be seen how overrated Kerry are I guess. While they're not the team of old it still has taken the eventual champions to beat them every year since God knows when.

Where they are very good is not fluffing up in any way against inferior opposition. They're tremendous at putting lower teams (ie anyone outside the big 4 tbh) to the sword

Passing the time on the train up
Listening to my favourite pre game anthem and it's now what ye might expect
Superheroes by the Script. The words could have been written about this Mayo team

Between that and the Al Pacino speech im ready to run through walls
Put me in coach I'm ready :D

I think it remains to be seen how good Kerry are.

Their game v Clare was pretty much the same as Mayo's.

Admittedly they did better v Cork than Mayo but up to the point of Mayo conceding the goals it was pretty much the same, i.e Mayo were looking at a double digit win.

And v a Galway team that were afraid to lay a finger on them they looked vulnerable at times and the return to form of James O' Donoughe resulted in a single point and an early substitution.

They had a league pretty similar to that of Mayo's and it was just the width of a post from a long free that resulted in their victory.

I'm not saying they are a bad team, but a Mayo work on all cylinders would give them the test of their lives.

Now whether we ever see that Mayo running on all cylinders or not is my concern.

In reality it should be one of the above, but knowing this team it will be neither , i.e another head scratching win.

To the mayo people in this thread, what would happen if mayo ever did win the Football All- Ireland after all these years ? Would the county grind to a halt for a few days ?

A few weeks at the very least.
