He brought a crowd for the sparring session Dana / Lorenzo . Told Paulie it was 12 rounds when he is in no condition to spar for 12 obviously with the intention of making him look like a fool and prob dropiing him when Paulies legs gave out. Didnt work out that way though. Just thought there was no real need for it . Paulie is one of the good guys

While I do believe it's entirely possible, given that Paulie seemed impressed by his work ethic and the fact that he was trying to prepare as well as he could, it seems counter-intuitive that McGregor would waste a sparring session by setting it up so that Paulie wouldn't sub-par for it.

Right, but Paulie's a boxer. McGregor isn't a boxer (as everyone keeps saying). How could a "non-boxer" set-up a boxer? It's not like he went out and shot a takedown and choked him out.

I already said that it would of been assumed from looking at Paulie he wouldnt be able for near 12 rounds . At a max 6.

But sure couldn't a top amateur toy with McGregor?? Couldn't a top pro beat him with one arm behind his back??

Paulie has gone from scientist to useless fairly quickly.

Sure, he wouldn't be conditioned for a tough 12 rounder with another pro. But he's in there with a guy with no boxing experience, who'd he tuned up by Irish intermediates, etc.

Kinda embarrassing for Paulie to be wheeling out the excuses tbh. 5 hours on a place isn't a big deal.

You said which is more impressive - 49-0 beating 22 world champs on the way is more impressive but lets not let reality get in your way as you are trying to say McGregor will win so you're already suspending reality.

Well I think that 49-0 is more impressive because I believe McGregor will get the 1-0. But if you think it is near impossible then 1-0 is more impressive.

It will be 50-0 IMO so it's a pointless debate.

Excuses ? What happened in the sparring ? He did go 12 rounds . I already said it didnt work out how Conor planned ?

He is sparring Conor . And yes he would beat Conor easy . Who said he is useless btw ?

Paulie's a nice guy when he's not accusing Pacquiao of using PEDs. I really like his commentary.

Given what he said about McGregor boxing previously, getting caught at all probably didn't sit well with him.

Is wonderfullife using multiple accounts on here, or are these actually real people believing Mc Gregor has a chance?

Have to disagree. It's a spar . He spars and moves and throws the way Conor wants him to . Conor is always going to land he knows how to throw punches . We arent talking about a bloke being plucked from the street here.

Its gone weird over on that MMA forum again. The obsession is unhealthy

Would he not want Malignaggi to be more elusive given that he's going to be fighting an elusive fighter? Doesn't make sense have him fight in a way that makes him easier to hit.

Anyway, it's basically speculation based on Paulie's speculation.

Im refering to Paulie making excuses like saying he just got off a plane, going on about his headgear, general complaining, etc, in his interviews. I expected him to be levels above Conor. So Im surprised that he feels the need to justify anything about the sessions.

"Didn't go how Conor planned" is just speculation to be fair. Maybe Conor had an agenda, maybe he didn't. Paulie knows what job he's being paid for.

If he wanted an elusive fighter he could of got loads of other boxers for a lot cheaper . As you say all speculation anyway from a sparring session .

He wasnt making an excuse for the spar though or trying to justify anything that happened during it. His gripe was how it was planned and who was there . I'd agree with him

I can understand him being annoying he didn't have his A game with him when the billionaires were in. Everyone wants to be seen at their best.

But if Pauli was as many levels above Conor as people were making out he should have come out rosy even if they dragged him out of bed half cut. The fight is 3 weeks out. I can't imagine 12 rounds is an unusual ask from the sparring partners at this stage.

As someone said earlier if he wanted an elusive sparring partner he could have got many other fighters but Paulie has a big media reputation and can do lots of interviews after it.  Its all part of the big game to keep the fight in peoples minds.  Just wondering what will be the next classy stunt McGregor will pull to get publicity

He says he did come out rosy . Said he caught him with good shots to prove a point. Said Conor had a good 11/12 rnd as he was spent. His issue was only before the spar not the actual spar .

For instance if im a boxing gym in Dublin and agree to spar someone who i think is only an upstart . Im out of shape etc then i come in for a spar and he has all his mates there i would think ' This little ****' Even though i know im not going to be embarrassed in the ring

I doubt he knew he was in for 12 rounds man . Wasnt he made watch his spar Artem the last time . I agree he should of been prepared for it though.

Again it might not be an agenda on Conors part nobody knows for sure.

Seriously trying to sell it now. Paulie everywhere saying Conor is getting better, he's working really hard. Of course he is, no one expects anything less of him.

Getting closer now to fight time..

Can we put up a poll?

    Options: Just mine...

    1 Floyd on points
    2 Floyd via KO-TKO
    3 Conor points
    4 Conor via KO
5 Floyd via points in a 12 rds dance (nobody getting hurt)

    ?

    ?

What will the outcome be in the fight?

    1. Floyd Mayweather via KO/TKO
    2. Floyd Mayweather via Points
    3. Disqualification
    4. I've never watched boxing before.

Good one. Throw in the DQ option for both

    So:

    1. Floyd on points
    2. Floyd via KO-TKO
    3. Conor points
    4. Conor via KO-TKO
    5. Floyd via points in a 12 rds dance (nobody getting hurt)
    6. Floyd via DQ
    7. Conor via DQ

    A bit pointless,no?

Surely it'll just be a landslide.
