Yeah bravo on the thread title.
Worthy of Olympic gold in mental gymnastics.

I'm more impressed by the mental gymnastics applied in trying to remove any sense of blame from Celtic fans.

So, in summary, there are a lot of Muppets who support Celtic?

There's not a single post attempting to absolve those Celtic fans of blame

And?....this is supposed to explain away the acts of those moronic Celtic fans ?

It explains the motive. It excuses nobody. Robinson trolled them and they fell for it.

The motive for throwing fireworks into.a shop with women and children...yeah...that explains it alright....the mentality of some fans anyway

he didnt have to put much effort into it, he just had to be in the same city miles away from the game at a private meeting or whatnot, thats low energy trolling. I hope the club find out the names of these clowns and bar them for life.

So Celtic fans walk 30 mins out of their way to start trouble, find it and then one of them ends up on a Union Jack pillow.

Did David lynch direct this one. All we need is a dancing dwarf...

I see Celtic were fined yet again for their IRA terrorist image at their ground. Celtic have probably set aside money to pay these fines weekly as they are so common with them.

Where is tommy Robinson in this video btw?

I agree with an earlier poster who questioned why English clubs accept Celtic as a friendly. It's pretty obvious that a lot of Celtic fans are in the Friends of the Ira fanzone. Maybe they should play their friendlies in Palestine from now on.....

Mod: Having a "no u muppet" conversation over Palestine when talking about football teams...is indeed muppetry.

    Cut it out.

Manager condemned use of the flag as did club. 99.9% of fans have nothing to do with this flying of an alien in a balaclava. 800 hardcore Celtic fans banned from next match by the club itself as punishment. What more can be done? There is violence at league of Ireland matches, but again slight minority. There was a row at the ploughing championship 4 years ago, should that be banned? I saw a mugging in Times Square, should that be closed?

I was at a friendly between Celtic and Spurs in Wembley. No trouble. Stop beating a drum that has no reason to be beaten. As to your last point, ballybrack is bringing a number of Palestinian kids to a football festival in the next few weeks. It would be brilliant if Celtic could go there and play a friendly in implementation of football without borders policy. But they are welcome in every other part of the world too.

What deflection? Every single poster has condemned the acts of 30 people wearing Celtic jerseys.

Whataboutery? Seems a buzzword without any concrete meaning but thrown into a debate

Most Celtic fans are fine indeed. But this is not the first nor the last time Celtic fans have been involved in idiotic pro terrorist shenanigans. That's why they keep getting fined during their European games. It's not a one off. It's a constant ongoing thing. The groin brigade just makes things worse. That's who you are referring to when you say 800 hardcore Celtic fans. Banned for one match??? Ha. They should be banned for life. Otherwise you will get another pro Ira banner very soon, sniper at work, hanging effigies of rangers fans etc etc.

And btw those 0.1% of Celtic fans must have very loud voices when singing their Ira songs. Do the other 99.9% not try and sing anything themselves???

Not deflection...showing bad things happen everywhere. Condemn the bad people. Not close off everything for everywhere else.

What happened in the video was a disgrace. But they don't represent me and I am a member of Celtic Football Club.

I am not deflecting the wrongdoing. It was wrong.

That Terrorist banner by Celtic should have seen them banned from Europe for few seasons. Disgusting to promote terrorism.

The Celtic fans were attempting to get at Tommy Robinson who has been winding them up all week on Twitter. Tommy then posted a picture of himself wearing a rangers top in the shop and posted a video calling Celtic fans Muppets for supporting Palestine. This occoured on the day Celtic were in Sunderland to play a friendly.

And people take the tool seriously?

So what's your point. Ban Celtic? Most recent incident is a player banned for one match for tying a scarf on a goal post. Previous fine was for flying a flag which was also raised by the UN as a symbol of hope.

I don't get your point. Do you want Celtic as a football club to cease because a tiny minority do bad things? But as a club as a whole reaches around the world and does great things.

A lad wearing sunglasses and a beret??

Bit distasteful....but don't see how it promotes terrorism

This is the sort of attitude that a lot of Celtic supporters seem to have. Sure if rangers fans put an image of Michael stone on a banner it would only be a bit of craic too....

Sunglasses, an alien, and a scarf, and not one slogan.......ban for a couple of seasons. Mmmmmmmm have a look at the flag, show me promotion of terrorism?

Who else wears sunglasses and berets? ...don't see Celtic as having much in common with beatnik poets from the 60's

Celtic could easily stop a lot of the nonsense. The recent Ira man banner was huge. Are you saying the stewards couldn't stop that coming into the ground? Either the stewards are blind or they are in on it. Sure the Celtic fans even had a huge boaby sands banner too. And with all the wee Ira songs and add ons. I'm not surprised the manager was embarrassed.

As I said maybe distasteful....but takes all sorts of leaps of logic to equate it to supporting terrorism

Theres much worse chants than that sung at matches
