Celtic fans attack shop in the defence of Islam

So a group of Celtic fan attack a shop in Sunderland because the owner has a sign saying
'Don't fund terrorism' seems straight forward enough.
The shop is supported by Tommy Robinson and he was there on Saturday to highlight the issue about the sign and the local police trying to have it removed. So the Celtic 'fan's' (thugs) attack the shop and throw fireworks into the shop, which contained kids and women. The brave Celtic hero's then ran when faced with a few locals. One Celtic genius got his absolute back side handed to him. Was it deserved? Absolutely.

The sign says "Don't fund terrorism, shop at Fletchers news & booze". Sounds to me like the guy is making the allegation that all asian shop owners fund terrorism.

Am sorry, I don't mean to have a go at you.
But what's with the trend of moaning about a video that is shot in portrait instead of landscape? like I get it... landscape video is better. But if this was a video showing Scarlett Johansson baring all and getting horsed out of it... I highly doubt you would be talking about it being in portrait.

It comes off as you (and others) just say things like that because it's a "cool thing" to say. After all, the video in question above is hardly a production mate.

Or it could be a reference to a specific shop, like a shop in a neighbouring estate, where the owner is linked to extremism.

Don't think we know enough to judge any side really, it's just young men on both sides doing that bounce forward and bounce back you get on all these videos of them fighting. Do any of them just walk normally?

The Celtic fans were attempting to get at Tommy Robinson who has been winding them up all week on Twitter. Tommy then posted a picture of himself wearing a rangers top in the shop and posted a video calling Celtic fans Muppets for supporting Palestine. This occoured on the day Celtic were in Sunderland to play a friendly.

This carry on seems to happen every year at Sunderland. I have no idea why Sunderland persist with this friendly and invite the hoards of unwashed south to meet their hoards of unwashed.

Of course it's the local police and communities that have to pay for it. All because Sunderland wanted to flog off some tickets.

There are a lot of football clubs that really need to start justifying their existence. A lot of those are in Scotland where the football culture is toxic. The world would be a much better place without those 2 Glasgow clubs. I can't think of a viable argument otherwise

Don't have much sympathy for anyone involved, barring stray people that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Robinson's a dick, the sign was dickish, the Celtic fans were dicks.

Celtic have a notoriously left wing fan base and a hard left ultras group linked with Antifa.

A far right leader doing a book launch in a xenophobic newsagents while Celtic were in town was alsways going to end like this, and was clearly set up by Robinson and co, the Celtic fans being daft enough to fall for it.

Bad form from the Celtic fans attacking the shop imo, but I strongly agree with their stance against the Robinson, the shop and the hard right in general

There's 110,000 every fortnight who would strongly disagree.

Scottish football isn't toxic. That's just a lazy comment that clings to a stereotype, arrived at through reading a few headlines rather than through knowledge of the league.

The league isn't with out its problems, but it's a far more accessible and better attended league, relative to the population size, than most enuropen leagues.

There are issues between fans, most notably Celtic and Rangers, but the reality is that for most, the hatred is 90 minute phonomon rather than a lifestyle choice

Just like every club, Celtic has its share of fcukwits following them. Nice weather, masses of Celtic fans making the (relatively) short trip, a day on the sauce, a shop sporting the English flag outside (which had been visited/endorsed by Tommy Robinson in the media), it was hardly rocket science predicting what was going to happen. Scummy behaviour lobbing a firework or smoke bomb in the shop. Surprised at the apparent lack of police in that area.

Looks like a lovely area anyway, must look at property prices for that part of Sunderland. Surprisingly inexpensive would be my guess.

I disagree with your post because of the sweeping statement. Firstly the criticism of the two Glasgow clubs. I presume you are referring to Celtic and Rangers. Have you ever been to Parkhead. I bring my nephews 8 and 6 about 5 times a year, obviously the 6 year old has only been coming for last season. It is so family friendly and they love the atmosphere. I have been lucky enough to have been there when the Thai tims were present and it was amazing. Of course a very small faction of fans cause trouble. But my point is, that happens in every large collection of people.

Last week, some Armagh fans caused trouble on the pitch. Do we ban Armagh? I've seen a few fights in hill 16. Do we ban Dublin? Irish fans are lauded as the best in the world but I've been in a bar in Hamburg when ten Galway lads wrecked it. Over a Turkish guy grabbing one of their girlfriends ass. Trouble follows every team. But that's just life.

Also, why do you mean about football teams having to justify their existence. If they have fans, they play games...that's justification. If there is trouble then extra measures are brought in. For example play behind close doors, ban away fans but that doesn't solve anything.

Going back to the OP..yes, scum bags did that, yes they wearing Celtic jerseys but they certainly were not doing it on behalf of Celtic fc or 99.99% of their fans.

As for rangers, I have been in about 7 old firm derbys with the most recent in 2008 when nakamura and van Hesselink (spelling) scored and although tense was just fantastic.

Have you gone consistently to the matches that you call their culture toxic? I've been to Donegal Armagh (football) and tipp Clare (hurling) that had more toxicity than football matches.

Green Brigade weren't present but "Bhoys" were there. They have a lot of young lads trying to make a name for themselves but unfortunately for them they played right into Robinsons publicity stunt. Without having older Celtic lads to back them up most done a runner. Bar one Celtic fan getting a hiding it was nothing incident played up to promote a book.

It was something and nothing that probably wouldn't have been a blip on any ones radar had it not been for that toe rag Robinson. Not a fan of Scottish football but it's same kind of skirmishes week in week out across the UK, most clubs have at least a few feral scumbags.

Just last week a group of Southend United fans have been sentenced to between three and four years in prison, for giving a Cambridge United fan such a beating, and stamping on his head, that he suffered significant brain damage and can now no longer walk, talk or feed himself.

Southend United probably don't feature too highly on most people's list of football hooligans/scum.

The Celtic fans were gob****es for rising to Robinsons goading (and the fact that most ran away leaving this poor unfortunate to get a smack in the face with a baseball bat). The lack of police in the area is concerning considering that Robinson had been goading the Celtic fans to come to that part of Sunderland for a fight

he didnt have to put much effort into it, he just had to be in the same city miles away from the game at a private meeting or whatnot, thats low energy trolling. I hope the club find out the names of these clowns and bar them for life.

So Celtic fans walk 30 mins out of their way to start trouble, find it and then one of them ends up on a Union Jack pillow.

Did David lynch direct this one. All we need is a dancing dwarf...

I see Celtic were fined yet again for their IRA terrorist image at their ground. Celtic have probably set aside money to pay these fines weekly as they are so common with them.

Where is tommy Robinson in this video btw?

I agree with an earlier poster who questioned why English clubs accept Celtic as a friendly. It's pretty obvious that a lot of Celtic fans are in the Friends of the Ira fanzone. Maybe they should play their friendlies in Palestine from now on.....

Manager condemned use of the flag as did club. 99.9% of fans have nothing to do with this flying of an alien in a balaclava. 800 hardcore Celtic fans banned from next match by the club itself as punishment. What more can be done? There is violence at league of Ireland matches, but again slight minority. There was a row at the ploughing championship 4 years ago, should that be banned? I saw a mugging in Times Square, should that be closed?

I was at a friendly between Celtic and Spurs in Wembley. No trouble. Stop beating a drum that has no reason to be beaten. As to your last point, ballybrack is bringing a number of Palestinian kids to a football festival in the next few weeks. It would be brilliant if Celtic could go there and play a friendly in implementation of football without borders policy. But they are welcome in every other part of the world too.

Most Celtic fans are fine indeed. But this is not the first nor the last time Celtic fans have been involved in idiotic pro terrorist shenanigans. That's why they keep getting fined during their European games. It's not a one off. It's a constant ongoing thing. The groin brigade just makes things worse. That's who you are referring to when you say 800 hardcore Celtic fans. Banned for one match??? Ha. They should be banned for life. Otherwise you will get another pro Ira banner very soon, sniper at work, hanging effigies of rangers fans etc etc.

And btw those 0.1% of Celtic fans must have very loud voices when singing their Ira songs. Do the other 99.9% not try and sing anything themselves???
