Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Conte has said this is his 'best team'

Team to face Inter: Courtois; Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Cahill (c); Moses, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Willian, Batshuayi, Morata. #CFCTour

352 with willian as 10 possibly

But will Fabregas be dropped when Hazard is back

Is batman going to be an option at this rate !

Definitely a 343 with Morata and Willian wide of Batshuayi.

    Batshuayi looking an interesting prospect.

Getting interesting yeah. If he starts well it could be Haz back in for Willian.

Chelsea 2 down to Inter after an hour.

Looks like a first choice team too, both Fabregas and Willian started. However, first sub on 54 minutes was Rudiger on for Alonso, who is supposed to have had a 'mare.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,254 ✭✭✭✭km79

Another poor defensive performance from Alonso
Good FF defender not so much in real life
Be amazed if conte doesn't sign another LWB

Also Darlow starts for Newcastle :(

A goal back for Chelsea - Kondogbia with one of the best own goals you'll ever see

Burnley side to face Nott'm Forest; Heaton, Lowton, Mee, Tarkowski, Ward, Hendrick, Cork, Defour, Gray, Barnes, Walters.

    Hmm. Walters on wing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,254 ✭✭✭✭km79

    Arnie and zaha goals

Jesus there could be amazing value in the 7ml mids this year

Its a 433 supposedly Walters right gray central and Barnes left.

    Theo doing his annual trolling.

    2 first half goals.

Kolasinac with an assist, and assist of the assist. Also, he takes the odd set piece. Could be an interesting alternative.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,548 ✭✭✭✭CSF

If someone told me Theo was starting I'd be moving mountains to have him in my team in a minute.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,654 ✭✭✭✭extra gravy

Kolasinac assist. Had him in an earlier draft, may try to squeeze him in again.

    Dawson goal.

Southampton line-up for the friendly against Saint-Etienne:
Pied starts RB. No Cedric in squad.

    Forster
    Pied-Stephens-Yoshida-Bertrand
    Tadic-Davis(C)-Romeu-Boufal
    Austin-Gabbiadini

Any legitimate fear of City actually going with the 5-3-2/3-5-2 formation? Fits Aguero and Jesus into the same team but it likely means Walker and Mendy provide the width rather than Sane/Sterling etc.

I'm secretly praying for this to have a slightly OOP City Defender in Walker and more importantly I could hold on to Aguero.

As every season, if owning Aguero is wrong, I don't want to be right:D

    Arsenal 3-2

OG, defender diverting in a cross from Theo.

Surely on for 3 Baps now

    Dawson goal.
They lost 2 1 and didn't play well apparently
    Brunt went off injured too

Yeah I was saying that on another thread, he's either not back, or just back to preseason. I read somewhere he's touch and go to be ready for opening Premier League fixtures. Pied playing well also.

    I'm steering clear of him.

Ya have Dawson in at the moment for his attacking threat but the frustration of owning one of their defenders last season is still fresh in the memory!

A penaltyless Aguero playing 2nd fiddle to Jesus at 11.5 (the same price as Lukaku) just doesn't do it for me.

Nothing makes me sadder than to not want Aguero :(

Oh I was going to have him in from the start. May go with Forster or another defender instead.

I blame Pep. But I'm thinking Ill have to at least start without Aguero

    Iwobi (Giroud)

He could still be ready. But I just want to risk 5.0 early on, Will be keeping an ye on their last few preseason games. I wanted to stay away from the Centre Backs until VVD sorted himself out but I'll probably go for Yoshida.

Bertrand seems most nailed on and added attacking potential but 5.5 is a lot to have in a mid table defender.

There's still a high chance Aguero is on pens imo.
He took one last season (against Boro)with Jesus on the pitch.
He wasn't on the pitch when Jesus took one against Leicester.

    Southampton-Saint-Etienne

Gabbiadini looking very lively, went close just before the break.

    He plays so central.

    He'll be nailed on.
Unless a silly offer comes in or he tried to force a move.
Has 4 years left on his current contract.

I was worried about his hamstring !

I had just convinced myself to go with Forster too :D

I'd be more than happy with an obscene transfer fee for Bertrand and a 4.5 Southampton defender.

    That game Ended 3-0
Think I'll be going with a minimum 2 saints players for GW1 based on that.
Maybe 3 if JWP looks to get a starting place, as he's on most set pieces when he's on the pitch.

    2 assists for Targett
1 goal and 1 assist for JWP

    Here's the goals

    1-0 Gabbi goal

    2-0 JWP goal

    3-0 Yoshida Goal

I had Forster for long spells last season and he badly burned me. He had a very bad second half to last season, he'd be my pick from Saints cover only for that.

Didn't see today's game but for the Leicester game I felt he was more central than origi. Makes great runs inside aswell.
