Sorry to all those who have Twitter blocked on them, the above is an infograph showing in their tenure's as managers,Pep has outspent Jose even having taken a sabbatical. Who is the 'football genius' and who is the cheque book manager now eh?

I think renato sanchez will be a united player in the next few weeks. Might be a last minute loan deal but i think it will happen

Are you just basing that on your own gut?

Personally I dont think hes good enough. He may have potential but hes not close to reaching it. We need an established talent to fill that void in our team not some overhyped kid.

Mitch statistaccly on Last season lukaku is better then zlatan. I know we all loved having him but he missed some God awful amount of chances too and thats where I think lukaku will improve the team he has a better conversion rate then zlatan.

I'm expecting lukaku to be well over 20 goals in league alone and another 10 in various cups l don't mean that in an entitles way I'm basing it on him Bean clinical and an excellent finisher and hoping he don't need time to settle.
I know Ibra missed a load of chances - but so will lukaku.

On your goals expectation - Ibrahimovic scored 17 in the league and 10 in other comps, so not massively off your target for Lukaku.

I'm not saying Lukaku was a poor signing - I think he is a good one and absolutely required - but in terms of goals output I'd not be surprised if he didn't beat Ibrahimovic by much. As I said about that, his style of forward play might release our other attacking players a bit more. Maybe we were too focused on playing too or off Zlatan last season and Lukaku will score more and aid others scoring more. Fingers crossed.

The basic point though is that I don't think Lukaku over Zlatan is the improvement required to turn us from last seasons crap to title contenders this season. We needed him, absolutely, but I think we need a couple of others to have any real chance - as well as the players we already have stepping up and improving consistently.

This is why I think lukaku is more then a Direct replacement for zlatan. If he carries on this form it will bring a lot to the team.

Edit: it also shows why I expect More goals from lukaku he is way ahead of zlatan in conversion.

    Well they both are.

Who ever claimed Guardiola isn't? I don't understand people who paint them at opposite ends of the spectrum, they are the same type of manager, only differing in their belief of how you win a football match.

In nearly every other aspect they are similar. Both require specific types of player to implement their idea and gameplan, unable to adapt and extract the best from the tools they have.

And if anything Guardiola is pretty wasteful in the transfer market, his record has been more miss than hit.

I'm loving the optimism Jayo and while Lukaku did score well over 20 goals in the league last season I think that might have been the first time he's scored over 20 in a league campaign.

Hoping you're right and he does the same this year for us, he is still young and may be starting to move towards his prime now, a scary thought for defences, but just for my own state of mind I'm not going to build up any big expectations for the guys goal return.

Just going to sit back and see how it goes.

Also: still expect Zlatan to return.

Your right it is the first time he scored over 20 in the league but he has steadily improved every year apart from his secondnyear at Everton and he had 18 in league the year before x

No we wanted him last summer, jose was a big admirer and tried hard to sign him, he is only 19 and i presume jose still thinks he can get the best out of him.

Jose said he wanted 4 players, lukaku and lindelof done, i think we will get Perisic next then matic, that will be the 4 and i think sanches will be a last min loan deal ala falcao

This thread will then rejoice and ed woodward gifs will be out in full flow

will in its hole - Sanches would be a poor 4th and last signing.

We need a top class DM. Not a young, promising combative central midfielder.

If we sign Deir or Matic and then add Sanches to the squad then great. But as a answer to the massive hole in the team? No chance is that good enough.

at the end of the day both spend stupid amounts of money when they have it to spend both are up against it this year cause they both failed to get anywhere near a title challenge last year a repeat of last years league standing by either of them will likely see them lose thier jobs.

major difference between them this summer is city seem to be getting the deals pep wants done vs united who have, currently, only got in 2 of the 4-5 players jose probably wants in

Apparently Chinese clubs are struggling to pay the big wages, is that the end of big money moves there?

I think the fact that they now have to pay the same to the government as they do for an incoming transfer fee pretty much killed those big money moves in their tracks.

They don't even fill the stadiums from what I can see, they don't have an endless supply of cash.

Mbappe to Real Madrid looks like it is agreed.

Wonder if Bale or Ronaldo could be moved on to make way for him - or if James and Morata and the outgoings Madrid planned to make room.

Would be delighted if we could get Bale in, despite my reservations on his injury record. I'd also totally mark out for a Ronaldo return, even if it was only for a couple of way over-priced seasons!

Read my post again.... we will sign 4. Sanches will be a 5th

That from the stories coming from Marca? €180m?

Considering the players we are strongly linked with, can't say I'm getting too stressed over it.

Griezemann in reality was an early blow, Lukaku has been a massive win.

That other clubs arn't making big signings either probably means there isn't much going on in terms of shifting around. It's like everyone is waiting for the other to pull the trigger.

I'd say if Mbappe goes to Madrid, it won't signal an exit for Bale or Ronaldo, I'd say he will be gently integrated into the team playing under study to Benzema.

a 161million pound substitute? I just don't see it. He will be a fist choice player.

£161 million is crazy, makes me feel way better about the Lukaku price

I think it is good if Mbappe goes to Real Madrid for €180 million, it might give the Glazers a reality check when it comes to Neymar, if any of them were blocking Ed and Jose over the price.

reports i saw about neymar is simply PSG have found some FFP loophole to be able to sign him and that united cant do it without breaking FFP rules. their loophole is probably signing him and not caring as they dont seem to care about FFP as they have indicated such in the past

I dont think Neymar is a good enough DM at that price.
