It doesn't actually. You love your statistics but here you have nothing to back up your idea that, because of some isolated incidences of public hypocrisy, the majority of 40+ men who have watched under-20 women in porn would actually sleep with them. You did it so I can understand your defensiveness, but defensiveness isn't proof. So when I point out that many people wouldn't do what they watch in porn, suddenly I don't get it. I do get it and I don't agree with it.

A lot of jealously on this thread, especially for the big bear.

Not from me, I'm in a very happy relationship.

And based on the quality of the first graph you posted on this thread, I wouldn't pay much heed to the second one. Though I note that desired age never drops below 20.

Well, many have longevity but whether they are happy is another question altogether.

Nope, no need. The amount of effort you are putting into justification paints a vivid picture.

I find it amazing the amount of threads Permabear seems to turn up on bragging about his life and looking for validation from a bunch of nobodies on the internet.

It's quite sad when you think about it.

Then, for god's sake, don't drag it down like you have been doing. "Other men watch young women in porn!" is just a tawdry defence. Sadly, people will likely be icked out by the age gap. Nothing can be done about that really so you just have to get on with it and accept that some people might not be accepting of it.

Permabear, lose the condescension. Freud was not infallible either.

I don't agree with your point. That doesn't mean I don't understand it. And to say that I don't is indeed condescension. What you are putting forth is simply a theory, nothing more. You are absolutely being condescending.

I understand and disagree. Secret option C. You really think that the two options you've outlined above are the only ones possible? Wow.

How can I make it clear? You made a point. I didn't agree with it. The end.

And yes, seenitall, I'm officially done here.

My best friend is 25, her fiance is 51. They're absolutely crazy about each other, they'll be married next year. They've been together for 4 years already.

It was strange to see at the start but it's the norm for all of us now, to see them together. It's not a problem for them, they're just enjoying their time together.
So, yeah, I think they can last.

A 47 year old going out with a 21 year old. Who was/is taking advantage of who I wonder?

Actually I'm wondering about friends of the couple and maturity levels. My OH is five years older than me and I have friends that I made in college that are five years younger than me. If I spend time with a group of them and she is there, she is usually looking at me like "What are these idiots on about?". Similarly she has some friends in their forties who I like but my god are they dull. They also shun the likes of Netflix and I can sense the generation gap in these minor ways. Maybe this is more to do with personality of course but I just wondered about maturity levels.

Why are you being hostile towards Permabear?

I'm surmising here but I think 'power imbalance' would be the first thing to come to mind for a lot of people. It would be my first thought anyway. And when one half of the couple is very young, there could be a stifling of their youthful experiences.

Clearly all the discussion of porn in this thread is bad for me

I first read the bolded bit as Licked out!

That's the second time on this thread you've used men's porn searches for "teens" as a defence/excuse/whatever for blokes being with younger women. How do porn searches equate to real life relationships? If I look at interracial gangbangs it doesn't mean I'm gonna get DaMarcus and the boys around to help me out. Beyond weird.

Edit- wrote this when I was halfway through the thread. You went on to keep talking about porn! So odd. MILF porn is a big one but the women in them are probably not even mothers for the most part. Same way teens are sometimes just portrayed as teens. Anyway, porn has absolutely nothing to do with how normal people have their relationshops, it's just escapism and fantasy for the most part. Using it as some sort of relevant yard stick is weird to me.
