When was the last time we played a championship game in Cork, cant recall any in the last decade, we had a good few losses versus Clare and Waterford in the late 90s as far as I can remember :(

We won Munster titles there in 2011 and 2012. Beat Cork along the way in one of those in Cork, think 2012.

Also had our hammering down there when Aisake destroyed us the year we won an AI.

I particularly remember that game v Cork where we held out for a tight win despite John O'Brien's sending off. I thought Declan and Tommy had turned a corner......how wrong I was :p

We played Clare in 01, 02 and 03 in Cork and won the former 2. The first listed was the first start of the great one and a game that stands out as it was a real catalyst for that all Ireland that season. The latter one was a hammering against Clare

Looking forward to a good day and a good win!!!

Any tips for parking or grub?
    Haven't been there since 2011.

On a Sat is it better to go City centre or Mahon/Blackrock?

The City Centre will actually probably be quieter than Mahon believe it or not, but they'll both be very busy on a Saturday. I'd recommend going through the tunnel, taking Junction 6 and take the N27 towards the city. When you get to the Elysian (tallest building in Ireland so hard to miss) at the end of that road go through the lights and the City Hall car park is on your left. Park there and the stadium is only 20/25 min walk from there. There's food places everywhere within 5 mins of there and also at the stadium.

Breezing one here lads, concerned about the full back line a bit here as Clare forwards are pacy, think we may need to drop the half back and midfield to give an extra bit of cover.... Clare aren't the most consistent team so hard to know what one will show up. Hon Tipp!

    Is this on tv?

I'm out of the country, not in Europe. Any good links for the game?
I was in Ukraine for the Cork game watched it on Gaago for €10 cos there wasnt a pub that was showing it. It was a bit laggy and around 3 minutes behind real time. You could try an Mobdro app on your phone also unreliable. Find some pub if you can most cities have an Irish bar or two.
I've gone for Gaago - definitely no Irish pub where I am...

Ten minutes in - unless we can rectify the way teams can run and cut us up from deep there is no All-Ireland for this team this year

Those was too easy for Clare to get two goals in quick succession.

Clare puck out strategy hands us five points in a row...

Frustrating watching Tipp so far - Clare look like a team that is not savvy. It's more Clare handing us things rather than us taking it from them so far...

Our line-up does not look in sync from 1 to 8 - we don't look confident from 1 - 8

I wouldn't just blame Barry. Barry, Hamill and Mooney are equally responsible. Mooney needs to stop pucking it out towards Bonnar.

Brendan Maher is a passenger again.

Well, a blind man  could see he is not a corner back - he has no business there

A goal will kill off Clare

Hopefully mick Ryan will start to see sense. We badly need Barrett back.

Mooney cannot start the semi final - puck outs, positioning, and authority in the square was not good today.

Michael Ryan is too happy for my liking, the capitulation towards the end from Tipp was very worrying.

Not only Barrett, but what is wrong with Mick Cahill? From starter last year to Sean O'Brien ahead of him. Cahill is a much better corner back than Barrett - Barrett is a full back or half back line player - nowhere near a cornerback

Hopefully after today Ryan will realise he was way too slow in changing it up as Clare pushed on.

Barrett badly needs to come back and Gleeson needs to go back in goals. There is no chemistry between the full back line and the keeper and Ryan needs to stop moving pieces around.

One of the more worrying aspects was how leggy we looked at the end. Clare kept moving the ball down towards Seamus Kennedy and it took us 15 minutes to respond.

Our full back line and Goalkeeping issues continue - midfield poor again - half back did improve today - if we perform like that again - Galway and Cork will have a field day

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,549 ✭✭✭evolving tipperary

Bonnar's lack of hurling is evident in is hand and stick passing - but hopefully he can get there.
Our keeper and full back line has to be from these four - Gleeson, Cahill, Barry (full back), Donagh, Barrett.  We can't win an All-Ireland with today's full back line...
We don't have the hunger of last year yet...

Obviously, if Callinan isn't right with that hand injury we're in big trouble...
How can they pick Barry at corner back...(regardless of picking Hamill - surely you pick a corner back for corner back...)
Why it take so long for changes....

The lack of sharpness and hunger is coming from the sideline too...

Good to win but unconvinced still we will retain our all Ireland, hopefully Ryan makes peace with cathal Barrett and mouse dwyer is fit for the next game. We were lucky in a sense clare were so septic from a scoring perspective.

Pairc ui chaoimh is looking fabulous however, very modern.

That was such a strange game. The best team won, yet Clare would've hammered us but for the wides.

We collapsed there late in the second half when we couldn't catch a cold, yet showed great character to surge back ahead again.

There's a palpable feeling of panic when the ball falls around our fb line. Moving Barry was a disaster, haven't seen much of donagh maher but looked avg enough and hamill was an accident waiting to happen. His mobility is awful yet he's not dominating in the air. Tbf they haven't had time to gel as a unit. M Cahill must be injured or suffering a serious loss of form to not get a look in today.

Kennedy blew hot and cold, that Clare sub destroyed him far too often though before mgmt made the change.

Our midfield is incredibly inconsistent. Breen is a real puzzle. He was belting over the points against a better cork team but was pretty anonymous today.

Bonner was very industrious but his 'hurling' was very much off today. Passed misplaced, dispossessed numerous times etc..

Bubbles is a shadow of the class act he used to be. Noel was top class today. A real 'brain'. Always took the right option today.

Yet for all my moaning we're where we need to be. If we click we'd beat anyone, but that's a major 'if'.

The fb line needs serious surgery. That last goal being typical of the muddling that went on all day.

Barrett is without a doubt a serious loss but what sort of message does it send to the panel if he brings him back? For years lads are giving out about discipline issues in the panel and then when a player is disciplined they're not happy either. I think Galway are the only team that can beat Tipp and if it's in an All Ireland final anything can happen. I reckon Tipp beat Cork in a shoot out in Croke Park.

Here here, absolutely hit the nail on the head. Years and years bad discipline and drinking when players shouldn't be have killed Tipperary over the years and now Tipp have a manager who will not tolerate it and holds players accountable to the high standards as set out by the group and management team and people are screaming for Barrett to be brought back. Sends out a terrible message.

if barrett says he is really really sorry can he come back then?
Maybe he could go on tipp fm and beg for your forgiveness.

barrett was kicked off the panel for a serious incident, but no where as serious as glesson who was found guilty of a heinous crime, stealing a large sum of money from an elderly man, and is given a suspended 3 1/2 year sentence and he can consider himself very lucky not to be in jail.
Barrett and Glesson had "form" in 2016 too, should we ask both to give their medals back?
    Get real.
