I don't think its fair to judge Bergin on a night when they were all pretty pathetic (Cork) I went to watch Kilsheelan V Killenaule and he was the stand out performer on the night scoring 1-2 from Midfield and collecting Marks above Mark Kehoe who was a foot over his head. I spoke to a Tipp selector on the line who was very impressed. I think he could have made a difference against Armagh in midfield when George Hannigan went off.

You`re right , he`s a very good Club Player but coming into the Panel at the stage he did , he was always going to struggle , you are going to a completely different level altogether . Can become a Tipp regular next year !

We lack fielders to combat it. We had Achey last year and O'Brien and O'Riordan the year before. Georgie isn't bad but doesn't hold on to the ball. If MQ comes back we are losing a lethal forward inside. Kennedy is probably the best option and also Ian Fahey if he stays fit.

What ever happened to Hughie Coghlan?

Used to be a great lad to field the ball.

Hughie is more or less retired at this stage. Not sure where John his brother is at.

Might be a little too far away for him to make it back for training in the evenings.

Not much training between now and Christmas!

Atleast he's getting the locals in tune to the rattlin bog.

Anybody see any changes in personnel or tactics for this game?
The Clare management must be looking to target the pace of Ronan and Joe(if he is reselected) - looking to get their fastest players running from deep and putting our half back line on the backfoot...

I think Cahill has to come back in - Barry has to be moved from the corner. Whether to full or wing

obviously, it'll be a case of Clare's running game against Tipp's ball work. Hopefully, we can frustrate them, make them miss, and as their legs tire in the second half, our long balls into the full-back line will start to pay off

What has to be seen now - is not just a plan for how we play. But, also how management will combat how the other side plays and close down their best players. That was missing against Galway and Cork - also, what has been brought to the side to combat how sides have been targeting our half back line...

Banking on the approach of last year is not enough - as everyone knows it inside out now. At several stages against Cork I counted eight players in the opposition half of the pitch - particularly on our own puck out - that's great in terms of ambition and confidence - but if you lose the ball it leaves our back line wide open... - you can't afford to do that against teams with extremely fast players in particular...

Lack of pace in the backs is worrying.

Looks like Seamus Kennedy is being given another chance against Conlon after the nightmare he had against him in the league... - brave move from management - it'll be interesting to see how it goes...
I wonder will they stick with the pace of Collins against Ronan - or try Kelly in there

Will Darren Gleeson be named in the subs list?

This will Be a good test of both tipp and Clare. Cathal Barrett is a serious loss in the full back line and his absence could be the losing of the game.
The winning of the game for tipp is Dwyer McGrath and callinan.
    They play well we win.

Can't disagree but if Dwyer, McGrath and Callanan play well it will more than likely be because others farther out the field play well as well.

I expect Clare's gameplan will be the obvious one to get Ronan out of position and give the likes of Kelly the space to gallop through the gaps. I'd simply tell Ronan to hold his ground, let Dan or Brendan provide the extra cover when necessary. Just concentrate on getting our own shape and focus right, especially on our puck-outs, and I think it should see us over the line.

    .

Cathal is a cracking hurler, but if a team has any ambition it must have a code of conduct and a disciplinary system for a breach. Talking about him is pointless.

However, maybe he'll learn from it and become a better hurler.. and hopefully have a positive influence on his private life.

I know nothing of his private life and dont want to know, I am simply stating his absence for whatever reason is a serious blow to tipps chances of winning tomorrow. Barrett and Bonner Maher were constantly the key players at crucial times for tipp last year.

I was in Ukraine for the Cork game watched it on Gaago for €10 cos there wasnt a pub that was showing it. It was a bit laggy and around 3 minutes behind real time. You could try an Mobdro app on your phone also unreliable. Find some pub if you can most cities have an Irish bar or two.

When was the last time we played a championship game in Cork, cant recall any in the last decade, we had a good few losses versus Clare and Waterford in the late 90s as far as I can remember :(
