Unsurprisingly, Shaky wasn't mentioned on 'Cool Cymru'.

There were so many members of UB40 the audience could join in and even the band weren't sure if they were meant to be on stage.

    Sad and shocking news...

Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington has died aged 41.

Never a fan of 'nu-metal', but I would go crazy when LP was played at rock clubs back in the day.

    RIP

    That's terrible news. Jesus.

Nu-metal was not for me either, but for flip sake. It was a large part of the soundtrack of some great, great times.

I was at university around the turn of the millennium - me and my friends would host a monthly rock night at the student union nightclub. Love 'em or hate 'em, if we played Linkin Park, everybody would pack the dance floor.

The BBC are bringing back a weekly pop music show.

    Link
The name of the programme and its place in the schedule are yet to be confirmed but it is understood it will be broadcast at peak times in the evening.

Unlike Top of the Pops, the new 30-minute show will feature sketches and interviews as well as live performances.

Essentially they seem to be bringing back 6 5 Special.

You're not watching John Williams? There's some musical scutter on anyway due to someone playing the saxamaphone. I was watching Metal Evolution (on Sky box sets at the moment, worth catching) and there was a remark made along the lines that early metal would be influenced by all music genres, apart from jazz as it was mostly ****e.

    Star Wars coming on now.

Man, I loved those Arrested Development tunes in the early 90s.

Mr Wendel was one of the first songs I knew all the words of.

I seemed to have missed it first time around, only noticed it last week when browsing what was on box sets for Sky Arts, but basically it's a VH1 11 part documentary exploring the origins of metal and the subsequent branches and sub genres that spun off from it. Wiki gives na decent run down of it

I no longer work in an office, so I've obviously give two fingers to hateful office haircuts.

Basically, I haven't had a haircut since January and it's getting nice and rock-y.

The reality is, someday soon I'll have to get a normal haircut, and a week before that day I'm finally gonna get the one thing I've wanted since I weren't nothin but a twinkle in ma' daddy's eye...

A full on Billy Ray mullet.

    Jesus, I can't wait.
