Thanks. It's not clear from their FAQs if they're registered for Irish VAT. I very much doubt it.

Whats the issue do you need a vat receipt to claim it back or what?

Vat is in the price anyway, as in the price is the price and you won't get stuck for vat after.

Yeah, I can claim the VAT back if it's an Irish company selling the phone.

What kind of data? They're both Google Android so most things will backup to your Google Cloud

Referral link for €20 off accessories when you buy the phone:
    https://oneplus.net/ie/invite#EY5INN6GV0EDS90

I got a cover basically free with the phone but there's other handy accessories like cables, car chargers etc.

Google Photos have has free unlimited picture storage.
Contacts are synced across all devices, as long as you are signed into Google.

If you have google photos, which you should. Go into it and turn on unlimited storage in the settings. Everything will sync in the background. When you sign into the OP5, all the photos will be there, waiting for you :)

Sync all to your Google account and they'll be all transferred for you.

Google photos is unlimited if you select the slightly reduced quality option. Open the app and check the settings.

Google Photos is unlimited if you accept that lower quality versions (although you probably won't notice) will be uploaded instead of the originals. With originals you have a limit unless you pay.

If you use WhatsApp and you want that backed up and restored you can do that too from the WhatsApp settings. It backs up to your Google Drive and then restores when you install WhatsApp on the new device. It includes photos from WhatsApp that you might not have backed up in Google Photos.

So I guess there's no need to use the camera upload function in Dropbox if you have Google Photo's set to sync and are happy with the High Quality unlimited setting?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 381 ✭✭pandabat

Yes but always better to have a back-up of the back-up ;)

    There's no real need, no!

Is anyone else getting battery drain? I'm down to 33% after charging it last night.
Screen has used 6% (1h SOT)
And Android system has used up the most battery at 13%

I did seem to be having some drain at some point last week but couldn't tell you why. Reboot, recharge and see how you get on

Can anyone recommend a screen protector?
I am using an Orzly one, but my second one has cracked in 2 weeks, both in my pocket. They feel like plastic and not the tempered glass as advertised.

Looking for a do not disturb app for dual SIM, I need it to disable the second SIM every evening and at the weekends but leave the first one working. The built in do not disturb disables both SIMs

Unsure if thats a thing. You can totally disable the second sim in settings though if its any help. go to settings - sim and network and there should be a switch to toggle next to the sim :)

Yeah I know that, I just want to automate it on a schedule

A search seems to suggest that Tasker can do this.
I don't have the app myself, so can't test for you!
