ref had a poor game but I dont think any tipp people would feel the best team lost

  • Site Banned Posts: 600 ✭✭✭Spirit of 67

Disappointed with yesterday . Ref was poor for both sides , he can`t get another Championship game , a couple of years reffing Division 4 might educate him ! We ran out of steam in the Second half , seemed knackerd with 15 minutes to go .

Anywho , lots of good things went on during the year , promotion to D2 , being competitive against Teams 5 years ago we would have dreaded playing . A really young Team that will be around for years to come , some new faces also who will have learned alot ! Football Board and The Friends of Tipp Football especially doing tremendous stuff behind the scenes giving the Players the support they deserve . Priority now is to keep the Management Team in place for 2018 .

3 years ago we were 80/1 before a ball was kicked to win Munster , this year 10/1 . A fully fit squad and couple of lads back who have gone elsewhere , get the $$$$$$$$$$$$ on Tipp to win Munster it`s only a matter of time !

Just saw the highlights now on the Sunday game. Certainly seemed like we ran out of steam having been 4 points ahead in the second half. Armagh certainly seemed to have more fitness work done. Disappointing as Armagh are bang average and I would have fancied us to beat Down.

Am I right in saying Bergin didn't start one game for the footballers having left the hurlers due to lack of playing time?

Wonder will he now rejoin the hurlers, he certainly would be a decent addition to the panel.

    .

His days are numbered with the hurlers. There is no return. He is out of favour and i think Mick has as good as told him.

He joined the footballers to late in the year with no league campaign behind him and unlike the likes of Jimmy Feehan his clubmate, Bergin hasnt Sigerson action to further prepare him. Im not sure Killenaule do much training or preparation for football until they are knocked out of the hurling to be honest. Ill give him the benefit of the doubt for 2018 with the footballers but id like to see us earmarking a few more young players for next year.

They don`t . Would like to see younger lads myself . I like Bergin though and would give him another chance , needs to get preseason in , must have been hard this year to come into the Panel at the stage he did .

    Any word on Barrett?

Ask Tim Floyd and he might call a press conference tomorrow to let us know the latest development in the saga. Im sure Mick Ryan was delighted with the last one.

I like Bergin too but yeah he definitely needs the preseason to improve his football. He had a solo in the cork game when he came on that was like something from an U14 game.

It was like he was trying to solo a bar of soap. now to be fair it could be just rustiness but i was as prepared to emerge from the stand for a Senior football game as he was that night. And i wasnt very prepared let me tell you :p

looking in the clare thread - there doesnt seem to be alot of them traveling. and goin by their numbers at the munster final, id say it fair to say you wont be surrounded by them.

most tipp folk i know got tickets for the city end. myself & the mates are goin to be in the city end like always but goin by what was said in this thread - tipp are meant to be in the blackrock end.

The other aspect to the whole argument is that the footballers are crying out for support so if the bandwagoners and event junkies can come on board then all the better. We cant complain about lack of support and bandwagoners in the same breath.

I'm not sure if you mean the actual players themselves are calling out for support, because I dont think they are. They're happy with whoever comes along and those who do come are proper supporters who'll always back the team and not like some of the "supporters" who go to the hurling games and slate players at every opportunity.

Klare won't have more than 5,000 at this game.

They didn't travel to Thurles for a Munster Final on a Sunny Sunday, not a hope they will go to Cork on a Saturday afternoon.

There is Tipp supporters in both terraces, no official terrace as such by the sounds of it.

Still decent stand tickets are hard to come by, Tipperary County Board got some muck of tickets. And then you see decent ones online, make you wonder.

Yeah it's more the Friends of Tipp football calling for the support. They are a brilliant group of people I must say. The county board should be doing more for the footballers too.

Those young men deserve more support in my view even if it is just bandwagon jumpers for the day that's in it

Probably 3000+ Tipp Supporters at the game Saturday . Seen a good scatter of People from North Tipp you wouldn`t normally see at games . I hope they are back for the League in the New Year . Home League attendances were up this year , nothing spectacular but up anyway . Up by the same numbers again next year and I`d be happy .

Kick outs seem to be an issue. Once cork pushed up on us in the semi final we struggled, same happened against Mayo last year. Armagh employed similar tactics last weekend. Need to come up with a plan B.

I don't think its fair to judge Bergin on a night when they were all pretty pathetic (Cork) I went to watch Kilsheelan V Killenaule and he was the stand out performer on the night scoring 1-2 from Midfield and collecting Marks above Mark Kehoe who was a foot over his head. I spoke to a Tipp selector on the line who was very impressed. I think he could have made a difference against Armagh in midfield when George Hannigan went off.

We lack fielders to combat it. We had Achey last year and O'Brien and O'Riordan the year before. Georgie isn't bad but doesn't hold on to the ball. If MQ comes back we are losing a lethal forward inside. Kennedy is probably the best option and also Ian Fahey if he stays fit.

Can't be sold out surely?? Hoping to get a ticket in Supervalu today. Am I too late? Maybe for stand I guess. I suppose lots of Cork people could be going to see the new 'Pairc'.

North Stand seems to be coming and going. Got one about 1.45 for Block 401. Probably the very end.

Standard post comes up as an option, but you'd probably be better off going to your nearest Supervalu, or Centra I think, if you can. Get your ticket there and then.
