Conor shouldn't have brought up the race topic. When a white man starts talking about black people in America, It never ends well, Also what was he trying to do with the Jay-Z album. That bit totally bombed aswell. Worst showing yet from McGregor, Just made a fool of himself

For f*ck lads......conor won this, floyd won that...

Nobody won anything.....it's a publicity event.
People buying into all this fake hype nonsense, this is not what boxing or MMA was meant to be about. WWE farcical ****e.

And many on here are as bad for buying into it and going along with who won a 'slagging match'

Just wait till the date and let them fight

I can't see the fight being any more authentic tbf

Why do the crowd boo everyone who is part of the back room, part of the promoting. It's like a reflex reaction, seen it so many times for years now.
Are the crowd really that simple, do they even know who they are, or why they are booing them

Repeat after me ... "**** the Mayweathers" and "All Work ....." gets these crowds going so ye, fairly simple

I'm starting to wonder if anything will be real about the main event at all. Ye, floyd will want to keep the 0 but will he coast through every round doing the minimum possible to get there

People could end up paying for a sparring session

    Agreed.

Don't be surprised if we get a 12 rds dance with neither man doing all that much...

I hope not, but everything about the circus is pointing to a continuation of the circus.

Half expecting that. What's to stop both these guys betting on McGregor to go the distance? I know it's illegal to bet on yourself but i'm sure there are ways around that.

    So why buy it..??

It's a car crash... But they're getting rich because all the rubber necks can't look away! :P

The pensioner V The tapout King!!! lol

The pensioner runs around the ring for 30 mins, while occasionally landing a punch... just enough to win each round... while the tapout King poses and drops every shape you can imagine, trying to look tough and intimidating... wildly swinging his club left hand, missing the target every time... until he gasses out... then night night.

If the old man decides to coast for enough rounds, Mr tapout King will be so exhausted, floyd can literally do whatever the hell he wants with him at that stage...

    .

Because it's likely cheap enough and I want to see what actually happens in the ring. It's really that simple...

I used to be a huge WWF fan in the 80s and 90s and would have paid to watch wrestlemania...

With the purse involved, it really wouldn't be worthwhile. Think I've read estimates of Mayweather making $100mn and McGregor $75mn off of it.

Was up early this morning and on the commute I stuck on the car crash that was last night's presser. Just a load of ****e, as per, but still people ( me included) watch so they are doing their job.

Couple of things for me though that really didnt sit well. McGregor tried to address being called a rascist, thats absolute ****e .. blah blah blah .. then goes and does it again. He's a bona fida idiot. Race tension in america isnt a joke and he should leave it or better yet apologize to black people and try and show some sort of class.

You know it's quite possible that biggest hyped boxing match to date, the May-Pac fight will be a bigger stinker than this event. The May-Pac fight was one of the most dire fights I have seen in pro boxing between two ATG fighters...

Can you imagine waking up Sunday, August 27 and saying to yourself that you enjoyed the action and the fight more than the May-Pac fight?

It was total cringe, Kid rock ...sorry I mean Conor looked like a tool , only good thing of the whole thing was thankfully the crowd showed in 2017 it is not cool to wear Polar bear fur to there is some hope for humanity ,

My own personal deflation on that fight was because Pac couldnt get close and I genuinely believed he had a shot at beating Mayweather.

That's true, but Mayweather didn't get close either...

I challenge anyone to show me Mayweather's clean crisp landed shots on Manny...

There were none. It was a dismal offensive Mayweather display...

Mayweather won because he didn't win. Won because he avoided getting hit a lot of the time....

Of course, only Mayweather gets credit and points for not getting hit. Forget that Manny barely got touched the whole fight!

I agree Mayweather didnt land many clean but he landed more than Manny. Mayweather won the fight but it wasnt what we all hoped for, mostly in my mind anyway because of Manny's injury.

Even though Conor is a bit of an embarrasing clown...

He's still an Irishman... He's still our embarrassing clown!! lol

I want to believe it's a real fight. I want to believe he has a chance... my brain just won't allow me to get my hopes up!!

And I just can't bring myself to watch an Irishman getting his a$$ handed to him, by some cocky wife beating gangster yank!!

Well, the verdict was very much split. Many ex fighters thinking that Manny deserved it.

    Horrible fight.

One redeeming factor for me was that had Manny not pushed/pressed the action then there would not have been any.

And the fawning and pants wetting for Floyd beating a smaller Manny was ridiculous.

Mayweather should really have stamped his superiority on Manny and showed his class. Instead he stank it out for 12 rds in a dismal offensive display.

It was one of Manny's easiest fights in terms of damage received. He received now.

I have been thinking on this

    Few things

Conor is not a dummy,. He is not the man off the street. He is young, fit, capable, athletic, and talented with his hands and feet.

Can he box? Yes. So can many non pros. Can he box good enough to win on points? 100 percent no. It won't be remotely close if it's points. Cards will read 120-102 or thereabouts if Mayweather doesn't "give away" rds.

Has he a KO chance? Of course. It's slim, but what if for whatever reason they are close and he throws a whopper just as Floyd is open and moving in and it lands perfect?

I have not at all changed my view as I believe barring a fluke KO this will be a ridiculously easy night for Floyd....

Again not an ex fighter and a massive Manny fan but I couldn't genuinely say he won that fight. Now the Horn fight ..

As I said, Americans would perceive that as racist.

    He should apologize.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 250 ✭✭noc1980

Even if you're right, he should still put a stop to it, as it is PERCEIVED as racism. He knows this but is carrying on regardless so will earn little sympathy if he goes too far and the fight is cancelled.

And all you need do is look at the recent fate of Bill O'Reilly after 20 years with Fox. Undone by an organised online petition targeting Fox and it's sponsors. Do you think Showtime are comfortable with the line he's been walking so far?

I only watched the fight live. Did not re-watch it and for me a win for any man was not at all clear. There was no winner really,. That's how poor a fight it was. Manny for pressing the action and being the aggressor I could give it to him...

Unless I watch it again and see these so called punches landing from Floyd then I am not giving him the win for simply moving backwards and avoiding getting hit.

Oh please, it's banter before a boxing match--last thing he should do is apologize for some media generated racial hysteria.

Using a racial stereotype to prove your not a racist is pretty dumb, though his comments and behaviour have garnered him plenty of love from one section of American society, the Pepe led frog avatar wearing kkk type. What a wonderful shower to have on your side
