I don't think anyone paying 10k has any real interest in seeing the fight in a fight fans capacity. They're paying to be SEEN at ringside for this one. Maybe get picked up by the cameras, sit next to a celebrity that kind of thing.

    Phantom punch?

Seriously doubt McGregor will have the stamina for 12 rounds of boxing. he is going to take a lot of punishment. he may give a new definition to the rope-a-dope.

    Something like that.

Ah it'll go 12 Floyd winning rounds with scoring punches while they dance around for 100m

Fight tickets slightly cheaper that last estimates if they are to be believed. So many will be comp'ed high rollers and celebs.

Mayweather-Pacquiao gate was $72.1 million and the *official* ticket prices for that ranged from $1,500 to $7,500.

The range for this is $500 too $10,000. Officially.

Dana said yesterday the gate for this event will be over $80 million. I predicted $77 million a month ago before fight was announced and I remember that post was kinda laughed at but hey ho :)

My ppv prediction of 5.5 to 6.4 million I'm sticking by.

Conor taking heat everywhere for saying "Dance for me boy!" which is deemed racist to call a black man 'boy' in America.

To be fair, he corrected himself and said "Dance for me Sir" right afterwards.

I know in boxing conferences there is always a bunch of old lads talking but why? Surely they know people are there to see the fighters and not the old guys that organize sh1t behind the scenes.

Conors suit was funny as all hell last night, just realized now it said "fcuk you" :pac:

Id love to see Floyd follow through with the fighting with lighters gloves, it would make the fight a tad bit more competitive, also Floyd saying "I'll fight in an octagon or ring" he is obviously full of sh!te there, he would be done within 20 second in a cage with Conor.

Said 'dance for me son' afterwards.

I knew it would be picked up on, these days more than ever, but clearly no racial intent.

I thought that yesterday, but haven't heard it anywhere of note tbh

    Even Snr. said it wasn't

Conor is not american, Irish never owned slaves, we don't share their guilt just because we are white. Americans are stupidly sensitive about stuff like this, Conor quite obviously didn't know that was a racist remark. You can say many bad things about Conor but being a racist isn't one.

If he didn't know it had racist connotations, why did he catch himself after he said it. He knew what he was doing, same as when he called Siver a Nazi.

Dana referred to Conor as the reigning, defending 155 UFC Champion. Christ I knew UFC didn't care about the belts anymore but defending it in a boxing match is a bit much. :pac:

Haha, I got a giggle out of that one.

I really want him to defend that belt after this, just once, please.

Anyone else notice there was a point at which Mayweather started dancing and McGregor shouted at him "Dance for me boy!" before quickly no doubt realising how bad that sounded, given their location and respective races and immediately corrected himself with "Dance for me son!"

Do the figures get released or is it like the UFC and Meltzer is the only source?

I think Manny fight has left a bad tasted in peoples mouths I'd bet under 4m.

Vegas have a line on it apparently over / under and 4.9 m is the line. So they are expecting announced.

Dundalk's tribute to 'King'' McGregor. I believe the singer is available to perform at children's parties.

Strangely addictive that song, a little rage against the machine esc or maybe more House of Pain at start, actually they should try to get Dana to see this, he loves Rage against the machine.

Haha got a great laugh out of that. Good insight. We got to hear the stuff Mayweather/Showtime were protecting Floyd from.

Shows the difference in production. I know they had a chance to edit over night, but the camera was better, the sound was better, and showed what most people tuned in to see, the lads giving it loads.

Loved Dana's "When Mayweather gets up, who's going to keep them apart!?" bit. Shows they really went into this, knowing **** all!

And Conor pulled his mic from his back pocket. Bitch move from Showtime to cut it.

Like your writing, wonder, and agree with the sentiment behind most of what you wrote, but just on a couple of things......
Before he could even get the chance at regaining his footing, Showtime cut his mic. The camera kept panning to the awkwardly smiling Irishman looking foolish talking into a dead mic.

McGregor's comebacks before they cut his mic were getting great reaction from the crowd though, for example when Floyd said the following there was almost no audible reaction from even his section of the crowd:
"Y'all know I ain't backed down from no mother-fucking-body. They line 'em up and I knock 'em down like bowling pins and on August 26th I'm gonna knock this bitch out too"

In response Conor said over the mic:
"You haven't knocked anyone out in 20 years!"

..... and there were huge cheers / laughter from the crowd to that.

Floyd looked annoyed at that, asked for his backpack to be brought out and took that cheque out... to which McGregor said:
    "That's for the tax man".

Again the crowd loved that.......... the "Dance for me boy! Dance for me son!" was the last thing he said.
As Floyd wrapped up his speech, he barked "it's time to face-off, get over here b1tch" and motioned for McGregor to join him. McGregor's "fcuk right off" response into a dead mic went unheard before he sheepishly joined Floyd to square off.

Tbf now that's not a true reflection of what happened there.

Floyd shouted: "Hey don't we gotta pose the fighters now.... face to face!" pointed at the spot, looked at Conor and motioned at him to get over there but Conor had no fcuking idea what he said as he just looked at him with a blankly and said something like "What's he on about"...... but then when Floyd walked to the face off spot and got in position, McGregor twigged what he must have said, jumped off his stool almost like a greyhound out of the traps (throwing his mic to the ground as he did so) and marched up to the face off.

    Here's the clip:

Fecking hope tonight's a bit better organised without the concert and less damn speeches...... with some press Q&A hopefully also.

That's actually brilliant. McGregor should play that on stage, in London.

Twas "Shut yore mouth," but yeah.

I truly believe the acoustics were awful, I'd say it was tough as **** to hear half of what was being said.

.....it's Floyd's house, Floyd's rules, he won't really let himself be exposed to Conor's tongue.

Yeah, I agree with that totally............ it was all totally set up so that McGregor doesn't have a chance to verbally challenge Mayweather directly. Even when in the face off they had no mics positioned close enough to catch what was being said.

From some of Floyd's other fights though I recall there was many live interviews and sit downs with both fighters........ that's something I'm not sure he can avoid as there is bound to be one or two of them closer to the fight.

Conor clearly thinks and responds much faster than Floyd (verbally at least) and so it would be interesting to see them the two of them going at in one of those settings he has had with some of his other opponents, such as the following...........

That 'boy' thing has come up before, I remember watching a clip of a news anchor trying to make a big deal out of it, & being shot down by his colleagues. It's a nothing thing, shite talk for the sake of it - it wasn't racially intended.
