To be fair Clare never looked like winning. Always chasing the game. Clare's big names like Kelly and Podge never got going. We had no real threat up front apart from Conlon who played well and McGrath fro most of the game.
Still if we had an extra game under our belt it might be a different story. Crazy to allow Cork a free reign with the puckouts. Negative tactics wont win games.
Conlon needs to realise there's 14 more people on the team, if I was managing them I'd leave him on the bench for a while. Think he passed the ball once all game which ended up as a goal. Scored a few points and a rake of wides. There's a time to shoot and a time to lay it off.

the players were obviuosly under command which wern't working,

Compared to just a few years ago, the game is gone crazy now with tactics. All the players bunching all on one side of the pitch. It's like watching an under 12 game at times. All the players trained to play a certain way. No room for individual thinking any more.

Kelly has been off form for quite some time,

today's pen is 1 example even if Nash saved a blast at goal it would have been better

Clare need a few "physical" players , Tipp, Gal. or Wat. would sweep them aside on today's performance,

Not sure about Waterford. They don't convince me at all and struggled to beat a team that were only wearing Kilkenny jerseys last night as they were not a shadow of Kilkenny teams of recent years.
Tipp will still have a big say in this thing yet.

TBH it's hard to look past tipp or Galway if they hit form as there added physicality puts them ahead of the rest, tipp were off form against cork and Galway haven't hit top gear yet. For the rest to beat either of those two everything will have to go right. Consistency would be galways target and for tipp just need to get their ducks in a row. Biggest help to cork is there is a bit of bite in the senior county championship again, as well as the young lads doing well. Having a few extra scorers beyond Horgan has left him come back to form a bit as well

That's 8/9 weeks, could be worth getting her checked & maybe a CIDR if needed

It was a very hard calving. I'll allow her 3 months.

    Would she need cleaning out?

    Would you consider flushing her?

I thought swallows/house martins used mud to build their nests. Pic is an old nest in a shed with new material added today. It wasn't like that yesterday
I'd say a wren or robin has commandeered it!

The snipe were very active round here this evening, drumming away over the bog, lovely night.
I found out who the owner of the nest is :)

    What is it? A swallow?

It looks like it was starting to make a fresh nest beside the old one.

I've never seen a swallow use moss for a nest, only mud.
I'd say a sparrow, robin, blue tit, etc took over the old nest and that swallow in the pic probably was born in that one last year and so is making the new one beside it.

Here is a link to the original photo I took in April. It shows the same ridge on the timber. As you said I have never seen a swallow/housemartin use moss.

Campsite we stayed in over the weekend had just opened a new shower block the day we arrived.
No idea what they spent but it was like a high end hotel inside.

Well worth posting in the nature and birds section on here, there is a lad called Scareem that will tell you what's going on there very quickly. He is one of my most admired posters.
Link or pm it if you do post there.

Remember driving across a single track bridge that seemed to be made entirely of railway sleepers.
It seemed like it was almost half a mile long, and there was a railway track down the middle !

Was hoping a train wouldn't appear, cause I didn't think I could reverse a Transit campervan fast enough to keep ahead of him :D
