There is one trailer going around that is 7 mins long. Just realised that hasn't actually been posted here yet....

There's just no way I'm watching that. That's nearly 5% of the film.

Some of the cinema,s namely IMC Cinemas had a trailer for Pirates of The Caribbean Salazars Revenge that was that long too. I don,t enjoy trailers like that I prefer them to be quick and fast 2 mins at the most just show some parts of the film don,t ruin it don,t give away the story or plot but get you interested. That is what a trailer is supposed to do.

After watching that trailer, it's actually not that long. It's all the trailers put together into one, so most of the stuff is repeated over and over with only little bits different in each one.

A new trailer came out the other day, pretty spoilery about stuff that happened before/during the time of the first movie. It doesn't show anything else we haven't seen already.

This has been screened already for some critics and there are rave reviews quoted on Dark Horizons.

Beware of spoilers from now on. There are free preview screenings today, almost a month ahead of release, so the studio must be confident of good word of mouth.

Went to a preview screening of this last night. I'm going to be completely honest, I won the tickets and my husband is a big fan but I hadn't seen the first two until last week so a late comer. But it's fantastic, got some chuckles in with the action also. Great film.

Anything to the reviews saying the first 1/3 is great and most of the rest is just ok.. with an ending that rises a little but doesn't make up for the drop?

The film isn't officially out until Friday. The screenings between now and then are "preview screenings" and 3D only. Same in the UK.

Dunno what will happen but if they want to continue the franchise i think Ceaser must live on.

So I noticed today. Thats disgraceful and not fair to lots of us who don,t do 3D.

Whats the difference between a preview screening anyway and an official one?

A preview screening is a screening that happens in advance of the official release, usually as a way of building buzz or getting audience feedback. But in this case it's obviously just an excuse make it 3D only for the first 3 days.

disappointing i have to say. i'll elaborate in a few days to avoid spoilers.

the BBC culture review sums up my feelings about it perfectly.

the last film was one of my favorite films of all time too by the way.

    6.5/10

Have to disagree with Froog, thought it was excellent from start to finish, it's a slow burner which I can see might not be to everyones tastes. 3D did nothing for me on this, but after my screening did hear a few claps after the film ending (which is rare to hear in a cinema). Andy Serkis as usual is the star of the show, but have to say special praise for Karin Konoval who plays Maurice the Orangutan, the MVP of this Apes trilogy. It's not the usual popcorn friendly blockbuster, but a fitting ending to a fantastic trilogy imo. But as I said could see this dividing a lot of people.
Anyone expecting a big battle between apes and humans, will be disappointed. Aside from the opening fight and the ending, there isn't much out and out action. No Apes in tanks in this film. It's without doubt the bleakest of the trilogy. Caesar, one of the more interesting heroes in years, gets a fitting ending and the scenes between him and Woody Harrelson Colonel are the standouts in the film.

3d glasses are free in cineworld if you show your ticket at the counter.

Since when? They always charge me

I didnt think to much of this one, the best in the trilogy would be the first one for me. Serkis and Woody were great, but overall quite boring..

Saw it last night and was disappointed after hearing so many good things about it. Was a good movie but not outstanding. A lot of plot holes in it. 6/10 for me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

I loved it, but I've loved this reboot series from the first film. So take that as a big bias.

saw this last night and quite enjoyed it. much more so than the last one. Maurice in particular is a great character. Even watching it in 3d didnt bother me but i dont think it really adds anything.

I was disappointed with it to be honest it's an enjoyable film but nowhere near as good as the first two.
