This is Ioane's third game against the Lions, right?

Yep, big step up in this game though.

Williams a possible liability disciplinary wise. (Expect dagg to test him severely in the air)

He was really poor in the air in the game he got a yellow card. Serious area of weakness for us

He is actually quite strong in the air when he's contesting.... Problem is he gets his timing wrong sometimes and doesn't stay down when he needs to.

I wonder what the reaction in Gilette's advertising department was to North's ommission from the team.

A campaign of 30 second adverts showing George having a shave, looking moodily into the mirror, splashing his face with water and then going to sit in the stands to watch the match probably

He fluffed two contests but it's not an area of weakness imo. He's had a fantastic season, best choice at 15 imo. Though you'd think he might have played there a bit more on tour if he was going to start the test.

Anyone have any suggestions for pubs in Dublin that'll be showing it? I think the Back Page in Phibsboro will be open for it, if anyone knows of any more, that'd be great.

Square Ball also (same folk as Back Page), Slattery's, and Woolshed obviously

Mcsorleys and Smyths in Ranelagh both showing it, Kielys too.

Imo Tipuric should be on bench...offers more as an impact sub.

Good team overall, mostly picked on form so far, which is what we want

Farrell the right call, his form has been consistently good for a long time now, better than Sextons, has loads of balls (all 3 fly halfs do), best defender, on par with game management

Sexton looked good the other day, its always hard to hard to judge on one off games as you can look good going forward but not when under the kosh, which they will be.

Same with Halfpenny, was excellent the last day, ignore the kicking, his kicking is not what it was, look back 4 years ago, he was splitting the post from the sideline. But his form up to the last game has been poor, for club and country, looked flat, tired, on form a great player

AWJ is the one stand out bad call, I can only assume experience was the selection call, has looked 41 not 31 all year.

Very surprised he hasn't gone with Warburton, its the right call

If Ireland can beat NZ so can this team. We have run them close a lot of times over the last 6 years, but get annihilated in Test series due to lack of strength in depth, injuries to key players, surely the Lions won't face this.

Scrum half is a worry, the step down from Murray/Webb is just massive, imagine Laidlaw on the bench for the second test. EEEEEEEP!!!

The Bridge will have it on too.

I don't have a huge amount of love for Halfpenny as a full back but his kicking has been superb. He hasn't missed a kick on the tour yet. His conversion of Itoje's try was on the wrong side and a bit out to the side but his pressure kick against the Blues to put them in front with 10 minutes left from the 10m line out wide was superb.

At the same time the kicking of Farrell has been extremely dodgy on tour thus far. He deserves his spot but he has made it far closer a call than it should have been, I think.

Anywhere serving? Molloys on Talbot Street would be a good shout for an early house that shows sports. Recently switched hands and they've put a massive amount of work into renovations. Really a great little spot now. Not sure they're showing the game, but they do have Sky Sports, so can't see why they wouldn't.

So just as awkward to get to as Ranelagh or Donnybrook for most people, yep :)

So I can wear my shellsuit without judgement? I'm not seeing downside here.

But if you get a breakfast up there the eggs might not be organic free range. Not worth the risk imo.

    Boards breakfast beers? :)
    I'm thinking Square Ball.

Buer owes me a beer from all the emotional distress he's caused after his anti John Hayes comments.

I was in square ball for a Leinster game recently - I won't say which.

The most annoying group of Leinster fans in history were behind us. Commenting / moaning / bitching about everything. We lost the game, but it was a cracker of a match.

Anyway. Unfairly I guess, it put me off square ball.

    I wasn't there then. Whew. :)

    Drink the pain away, buddy.

Ah, f*ck it. It's almost the weekend. Have a pic of the man.

So far there haven't been too many testing kicks, no doubt a fine kick against the blues, but one most kickers would be expecting to get

How many has Farrell actually missed, can't remember any, including that one that did go over

The sign of a kicker who is on-song is splitting the posts (see 2013), so far all kickers have been slightly wayward, not much between any of them, certainly not enough to mean the 10 can't be used.

I'm sure any tries scored on Saturday won't be under the posts

The Patriots in Kilmainham are showing it and serving breakfast.

I'd go with the square ball tbh, if the north side is too much a hassle. Personally, I've gone to the extreme of making someone else get married so that I can watch it in a hotel bar in Donegal.

Dropping Well in Milltown - great spot to watch. Be there early.

    Lions tour so far

Farrell kicking stats are 5 successful from 8 (63%)
    Halfpenny 11 from 11 (100%)

Think those stats speak for themselves dont you

I've a bit of a working theory that Farrell struggles with dead straight kicks, have seen him miss an amount of them right in front of goal between 22 and 10m line
