    In comparison to McGregor?
    Dont be silly.

Pac man is still a very good boxer and had a genuine chance against Mayweather.

By that stage of his career his powers had dwindled significantly. I think in the earlier part of his career it would have been somewhat interesting fight but by the time the fight happened it was a foregone conclusion. We are completely off topic here and I think history proved my side so I don't even know why it is a discussion as anyone who watched the fight could see the complete gulf in class when they eventually fought. I forget the exact price but I think I could have backed Floyd as big as 4/7 but maybe closer to 1/2, I can't quite remember but I do remember thinking he should have been a 1/10 shot if not shorter.

Could be 100m flat for Conor and the UFC gets his share of PPV. Would give them a reason to co-promote it with Mayweather Promotions/Showtime. They might be giving Conor a small slice of PPV too, to ensure he promotes it.

no way 100m USD will be guaranteed/given to McGregor straight off.
I'd be surprised if he gets anywhere near 100m total.
Mayweather gets to keep most of the ppv on his side.
UFC and McGregor have to split their side.

McGregor is the junior partner in this deal with Mayweather.

interesting to look at the past PPV numbers for boxing and mma.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pay-per-view#HBO_PPV

This "show" is purely a money-hoover exercise to try to capitalise on a combination of the PPV pull of both.
No risk for Mayweather - he gets his 50-0 record and a load of cash.
McGregor couldn't give a toss about being made look a fool in the boxing ring at long as he gets the big pay-day.

We're discussing it because you said you were going to wait for Floyds price to come in like it did against Pac Man. The reason people backed Pac Man and it was a two way street on both sharp money and public money, was because they genuinely thought he could win.

The difference here is I doubt the public will be enough to shift Floyd in, IMO the sharp money on the other side will keep it around 2/11 1/6, might come in as far as 1/5 . Personally given the money already down I cant see it getting near 1/3 but you never know.

It's not gonna be more than 60/40 split.

Mayweather to earn a dollar 50 for every dollar Conor gets...

Gas. It's Conor who has the mountain to climb and it's Mayweather who "reaps the rewards..."

The mountain of cash is the only thing all parties care about climbing . Fair play to Conor he has made himself crazy rich in such a short amount of time.

Thats because Mayweather considers himself always to be the "A" side in any fight, he wouldn't split evenly even when fighting Pacquaio. I read the first time he fought Maidana, he got 30 million and Maidana got 1 ! (it was still Maidana's biggest payday up to that time though).

looks like he banged his head with force on the ring surface when he went down and as he was a big guy that weight accentuated things. that more than the punch probably did the damage. sad story.

Amazing what you can pull when you hold the power. Look at last weekend, Ward got a guaranteed 6.5 million just for showing up, Kovalev got nothing, instead relying on PPV sales and ticket sales. Still will make well over a million I'd imagine but still...

Absolute nonsense. He was getting absolutely pasted, knocked down multiple times and taking some big shots from a big puncher. The canvas is not concrete. The ref and/or corner should have stopped the fight way before the end and besides who allows a guy KO'd 7 times in two years to fight.

Have a look at it yourself on YouTube. He absolutely smacked his head with huge whiplash - he was out cold on the way down.
Yes he shouldn't have been in there with his previous record, he was over-matched in terms of skill, physical fitness and and power and it probably should have been stopped earlier (he did get up quickly however in the previous knockdowns) but it really looked like a lot of damage was done on the head impact.

He landed on the mat hard but looked more like his back and shoulders took the impact. Poor man. Really should have been stopped sooner.

Tim Hague had been knocked out seven times over the last 18 - 24 months (In both MMA and Boxing) and as recently as April. Shouldn't of been allowed fight by whoever sanctioned the fights which seems to be a mess in Canada.

He got knocked down 5 or 6 times in that fight, it should have been stopped much sooner.

Completely agree but he shouldn't of been allowed be in the ring in the first place.

    Without doubt.

Even the fact that he is a 1-2 boxer fighting someone who is 8-0 with 8 KO's should have been enough to stop it getting sanctioned.

Its a joke! I know people are saying "Mayweather is pillow fisted" but if he wants to and its not fixed, he could do some real damage to Conor. Joke of a fight and a bit disgusting that its sanctioned.

People say "you are a hater" if you dont like this fight. Who am I hating? I like Conor, I really want to see him do well. I am a fan of the guy in MMA and hope he returns some day :)

Everyone knows the fight is a joke but everyone will still be watching.

Badou Jack - Cleverly and Gervonta Davis would be a pretty decent under card.

That is just it. Seems there are a heap of people who think a possibly stage managed fight is pure BS conspiracy....

It's either stage managed or both men being allowed fight as freely and as committed as they please....

I think for Conor's safety he should opt for the former option...

    2 myths re Mayweather

He is not a huge puncher but is far from pillow fisted
He does not run . He stands in front of you but his defense is so good.

I wouldn't say he runs, but he doesn't always stand in front of you either. That would be James Toney.

I will say this, if Floyd gives ground to Conor you would have to ask why?

Really, he should be able to stand right in front of him and trade with him with confidence. No need to give ground. And I don't mean those pathetic swipes and paws ala Manny and Maidana. I mean actual committed and spiteful punches.

Now, of course Conor could be the "runner" and mover, and in this instance Floyd should be able to easily walk him down and break him up.

Conor has nothing to lose here. He puts on any kind of good show and he's a winner.....

This assuming both men go in with no deals or arrangements in place.

Oh, and Floyd should be able to hit and land hard enough to hurt Conor. BS to think he cannot. And that may surprise a whole lot of people that are clueless to believe it.
