After 740 egg hatches finally hatched a Snorlax - the big guy is a wonder too with zen headbutt and hyperbeam.

My 2nd snorlax overall - named Snoball2 (reference to the simpsons and the fact that dear wifey calls snorlax "snoball").

Collected my last 100 coins of the present Gym setup.
Wondering what is coming and dreading the Team aspect of the new setup.

Solo player in the country sticks, if I struggle to get into Gyms because of this, then I'm gone.

    Hope not!
But I'm not paying out, already have in the past (bought €100 worth of coins as a Christmas gift to myself...stoopid me knows)

    Let's see what happens

How much xp has everyone got during this event? I've been catching every little cretin and walking galore with constant lucky eggs and have just passed 1.25 million XP since the event started. Started the event at 5000 XP on level 32 and I'm currently half way through level 33. I'm aiming for level 34 before the event ends.

Ive done a bit over 500k XP and I thought I had been doing well till I saw your figure. Should get to Level 30 today , plan to take a step back from it for a while after this event , spent way too much time on phone in last week !

I had more or less ignored the gym aspect until a few weeks ago so also fearful of any big changes , had got myself into a few gyms that werent changing hands so was getting a nice daily collect

I've over 1 million stardust saved in preparation for the gym overhaul so I'm looking forward to what's to come.

Has anyone visited the Botanic Gardens in Dublin during this event yet? I'd say it's a great way to gain XP since there's a Pokestop every few metres and 'mon all over the place!

anyone get soft banned for completing a catch much later?
I was down the country for the weekend , clicked on a large shellder but closed my phone.
Just popped over to a gym there and when I opened the phone there was shellder waiting to be caught.
Caught him and ever since I can't interact with the gym, the pokestop spins and nothing happens and every mon runs after 1 ball.

only thing I can think of is the late catch of the Shellder.

Up to 233 now just missing Amphoros and unown. (picked up Tauros in the states late last year and Corsola in the Philippines in Feb)

They did implement something to catch snipers - basically the game used to only record where you caught a pokemon and not where it was initiated, so people would spoof to location of a rare pokemon. They'd start the catch, then return to their real location and catch it. Upto about a week or two ago this wasn't tracked so they could do it as much as they wanted without any consequences, and was one of the ways some people have 10 Blisseys etc. Now there is a check on how far from spawn location you caught it.

By the way, how common was Corsola, heading over there in August and hoping to pick one up?

thank you, everything is working this morning.
though I see the local chest is back at it.

there were plenty, gen 2 was released while we where there and we barely played and caught a bunch. Deleted a bunch too because I had no idea that they were exclusive.

I guess right now it's the waiting game to see what changes come in the gym scene - whether it's better to power up one poke or have multiple of a poke...

Yeah I havent even bothered doing anything other than catching 'mons during the event and continuing my streaks (and cashing in my long term gyms). I have not lost a gym in a while but I won't bother re-taking them now until after we all get booted

Gym I took last night around 11ish in order to bring coins up to 100, worked out nice when I woke at 6:00 and spun (was meant to be 2:30, but I couldn't be arsed)
Anyways was taken back at 9:00 by suspected spoofers.
Should I claim it back...no coin and just principal or
Leave lying dogs (lying bitches) lie??

Would be interested to see or hear of any new pokestops being added, if folks could post where they are added that would be great!

So far I haven't found any.

Have they said yet what time the Gyms will be cleaned out, and when they are going to let us know the new format ?

Still in mine, and have not heard anything further.
I'm expecting the change to happen at 7pm PST like the events

I haven't played in about a month and I just opened it today to see I'm still in 2 gyms! No idea where they are, I was in about 6 gyms when I stopped playing.
I just opened pokemon go again today, still in 1 gym somewhere. About to be kicked out. Must be about 4 months

The gym clearout is good though, there used to be a load in yellow gyms around phoenix park and the zoo that were definitely spoofing.

Many of them are now Mystic spoofers instead... Much of a muchness.

Sounds like a game changer - coin rewards gone. +20000CP Raid bosses kicking Pokemon out of gyms, news rewards. Can't wait for this!!

Thanks for posting, that's huge news. Spinning gyms for items, for starters.

    Some very confusing stuff there.
Will see how it plays out in reality.

I see no mention that coin rewards are gone

Lot of stuff in there allright, will need a couple of run overs. Don't see anything about coins gone though. Hate the part about having to keep your mon's motivated by visiting them to give them berries.
And regardless it looks like when these raid events happen all mons will be kicked out anyways.

Its obviously gonna make it MUCH harder on ppl to get their coins from gyms. Starting from gyms will have 6 SLOTS ONLY!

Also its going to be hard for the mostly lone wolves players AND ppl will have to organize their time AROUND the game to participate in raids.

I understood that ALL players participate in a raid no matter what team so I will have to start smiling at local Insticts and Mystics more. :D

The raids sound like an interesting feature allright, but some of the other changes are just going to play into the spoofers hand even more. Daily berries/limiting 6 slots, can see tons of shaving taking place.

I don't think it will make gyms harder.
Local country gyms that I am in often don't have 6 slots taken!

The ones that are at lvl 10 are often in high turnover areas that don't last anyway, making them pointless to bother with. Eg in a grassy back road off a wicklow mountain it's a much better gym to take, than one on OConnell street. Thats not going to change with this update

True - I might have jumped the gun, but there's no mention of coins anywhere. I just wonder what's in this update to deter spoofing. Generally I see large groups of spoofers acting together, does this encourage that activity? Removing the coin rewards might be a good idea, if not they should certainly cap the number of gyms that people can be in.
