Not often George gets told to 'shut up'. Except by the 'lovely' Ingrid no doubt :D

It was brilliant. He completely destroyed Hook. It wasn't even a fair fight

Will this be replayed later tonight?

That was pretty great. Guy pulls Hook up for sensationalising his points and then Hook childishly doubles down. The "shut up" bit made my day.

His reasons for not covering it were a bit hard to follow.

His reasons for not going with it were that they didnt have all the facts, which is commendable but it has never stopped him before.::rolleyes:

I think its more that it would get the outrage going.

The lad he has on now about the persecution of christians sounds like a bit of a header. George had to stop him on the lgbt people persecuting christians:D Usually a lad like that is Moncrieffs american crank of the day

A pathetic excuse for an interview with the Christian guy.. never bothered to find out about the 'born again gays'(ie guilt ridden eunuchs) he mentioned... then made himself out to be an authority on the benign experiences of gay schoolkids. Also managed to sqeeze in his daily crack at Muslims. Maybe the station is seriously in need of text revenue... oh and Hook seriously in need of a bath given the fine weather.

I thought George was on flying form the doctor agony aunt one. He has great insight... would have made a great Doctor himself I reckon as he seemed willing to learn despite his rants.

George and the sports guy, think it might be Oisin Langan have been getting tetchy lately. Today there was a big silence after the sports guy turned what George was saying about Gatland back on him. Last week george asked if he was supposed to know who "Christian" Ronaldo was? A while before that he asked if he was supposed to care about one of the sports in the bulletin.

I have noticed lately people losing patience with George. Just listen to the Census woman when she is on. Pat Kenny sounds like he is gritting his teeth sometimes during the handover.

I would imagine he's awful to work with on the basis of his pig ignorent the approach to presenting. Although I have heard from a few people who have met him in a private capacity and said he was a perfect gent.

Hook has just spent the last twenty minutes interviewing a man who does an unusual job - he's a lighthouse keeper. I'm intrigued as I have an interest in lighthouses and lightships and know that everything is now automated and there are no longer lighthouse keepers. Hook finds this out in the last minute of the interview - some research. Next week he will interview a town crier.

There seems to be a concentrated effort to have "banter" between George and Oisin.

I always sense a bit of friction going on between himself and Montcrieff when he starts to handover...Sean doesn't seem to want to participate in Hooks self absorbed blather...and I guessing his show was cut to accommodate Hook.

Banter is the bane of modern radio.

I heard George tell Michael Graham in the repeats last that he will be retiring(again) in 15 months time. So he must be on a 2 year contract.

He's very knowledgable about music too. I think he runbed Bill Huges up the wrong way one too many times and now Hughesy won't give him the time of day

I haven't been tuning in to High Noon in a while, work etc. Does Bill Hughes still have his segment on Thursdays like the evening show? (very enjoyable segment)

What happened, what did Hookie say to Bill?

Fair due, I will listen later.

Forgive me, but roughly what was said ? I don't sense that George liked many of those tunes

"People who paid their water charges and obeyed the law", says Hook.

I wonder if there's a copy of the Moriarty Tribunal Report around Newstalk Towers? Somehow I doubt it.

I don't know what research backup Hook has.

Must be hard to fill the two hour slot, and to keep the outrage going

I recall some time ago he had a piece on Miraculous Medals. Last time I came across those was about time of first Holy Communion, which is back a bit.

At FHC time for my own children and grandchildren th'oul Miraculous Medal would not cut it

Time stops sometime during 1966 for George.

They're advertising for a new producer for the show atm.

IIRC they were looking not so long ago too.
