The fight is a ****e fight yes.
If they Make the fight go on for longer than it should just to make a show and give people value for money it will be a joke.

The only thing we can hope for now is Floyd goes in there with the mentality to destroy him and knock him out.

If it only last 30 seconds it will be better than watching a friendly exhibition match.

I have nothing against conor winning either as long as he does under the conditions above.

I was referring to the comment about Floyds fighting style. Do people genuinely think he would have to fight defensively ? He is not fighting a professional boxer . He is fighting someone who was average enough in a club gym in Dublin . He will tee off on him at will and if he doesnt its a staged fight imo .

You would think that he would not even need a training camp here. If he fights defensively and like his usual self then he has lost. He needs to go out and get rid of Conor within 2-3 rds tops. If not he has lost.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Mayweather knocked him out and destroyed his chin, like what happened to Chuck Liddell :pac:

It's far, far more likely that Floyd knocks McGregor out than the other way around. He'll be hitting him for fun and connecting cleanly. I'd be stunned if it makes out to the 6th.

I agree but as i said on the boxing forum he has hit the jackpot . Easy exhibition fight , huge payday and 50-0 .

Everyone involved laughing all the way to the bank.

This sets up Conor as PPV in the UK and Eire as standard going forward which is ****.

At least the most entertaining parts (the pressers) will be free. Or so we hope:(

Average ticket price will be roughly $6,000.

    Still tempted?

I'm honestly still stunned it's going ahead.

If Floyd takes this seriously Mcgregor is in serious trouble. He will be destroyed with ease.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's set up and we get a 12 round exhibition with little to no action.

Jesus wept, you'd need to get a mass said for yourself if you pay that much to watch this farce.

Only question I have is if Floyd will try to make it look like it's not the farce that it actually is.

By right, if team McGregor are taking it seriously, he should have a couple of prep fights against a journeyman bum or two. But there's a very good reason that's not happening!

If this goes ahead I wonder what the option will be to watch it legally here will be. PPV most likely but what carrier? SKY Box Office? Or being that its a UFC co promotion will BT Sports have the rights to show it.

It won't be a UFC promotion. It'll be Mayweather Promotions with the UFC as a stakeholder rather than co-promotor.

It will be on Sky via Box office for 25euro. Same as the May-Pac fight.

Sky will either take this fight or GGG - Canelo. Can't see them taking both, BT will take the other I'd expect and make it PPV.

It'll 100% be PPV either way. Too much money in it not to be.

For 25 quid you couldn't go far wrong. Get a few round to split the cost and you'd have a decent night's fun. Fight will be dirt but it's going to be one of them "I seen it live" sporting events.

If its a choice if either one or the other for me, GGG and Canelo it is.

For you maybe, Much more viewers and money for the circus act though.

So this is what combat sports has come to. The biggest fight this year is a circus act. Unfortunately there's too many people out there that will pay to watch this on PPV.

Don't get me wrong I'll watch it for free for the spectacle but there's not a chance in hell I'd pay for this farce.

Hi. Does anyone know what time conor is fighting at?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,207 ✭✭✭The Ayatolla

    Any streams?

Which is the real tragedy in this.

If McGregor were to beat him (I know I know) but I will say anyone not even affording him a punchers chance are being disingenuous at best.....anyway if he won what chances him going the boxing route full time and ditching mma

If he won that would be up there with Italia 90 for me.

Zero I'd imagine. If he got away with beating Floyd, pocketing all that loot and becoming the 1 in 49-1 etc... it would be the heist of the century. There is no one else he could fight that would give him anywhere near the windfall Floyd would. Can't see the casual fan tuning into a Conor v Pac fight for instance any more than a Conor MMA fight.
