The last thread was nearing the 10k post limit so here's part 3.

The same rules as the last thread apply here. People seem to have strong opinions either way when it comes to McGregor and threads here tend to get a bit heated from time to time. Please keep it civil and discuss all things Conor in a mature way.

I thought he'd retire after this too, but the more I think of it he probably has an agreement with UFC that if they let him do this, he will see out his contract.

And the inevitable "coming out of retirement" fight will go on to do astronomical numbers. He doesn't strike me as the type to leave money on the table, and there'll be plenty of it regardless of the result against Mayweather.

If he does walk away after Mayweather, he'll have been one of the very few fighters (MMA or boxing) to retire at their peak. I'd be surprised if he does.

There's been plenty of fighters who have amassed more than enough money to retire comfortably, but have chosen to continue.

A fight against the winner of GGG v Canelo would do big numbers, and he'd be the a-side in the negotiations. I don't think UFC could offer him close to what he'd get on a win streak on boxing ppv.

Zero I'd imagine. If he got away with beating Floyd, pocketing all that loot and becoming the 1 in 49-1 etc... it would be the heist of the century. There is no one else he could fight that would give him anywhere near the windfall Floyd would. Can't see the casual fan tuning into a Conor v Pac fight for instance any more than a Conor MMA fight.

So this is what combat sports has come to. The biggest fight this year is a circus act. Unfortunately there's too many people out there that will pay to watch this on PPV.

For 25 quid you couldn't go far wrong. Get a few round to split the cost and you'd have a decent night's fun. Fight will be dirt but it's going to be one of them "I seen it live" sporting events.
