Pats move paid off in the end it seems.

Yeah it didn't seem to hurt Blount at all as he had a total of 3 offers (Giants and Cardinals too).

I follow Blount on Instagram. Over the last weekend on his instagram stories, it looked like he was still in Foxboro hanging out with Dion Lewis and James White. In one of the stories, he shows himself wearing a Patriots hoodie. I think that showed he had no ill towards the Pats for the tender.

    Concussiongate on its way.

Gisele let this bad boy slip:
"As you know, it's not the most, like, let's say 'unaggressive' sport. Right? Football. Like, he had a concussion last year," Bundchen said. "I mean, he has concussions pretty much. We don't talk about it, but he does have concussions. I don't really think it's a healthy thing for your body to go through, do that kind of aggression all the time, that can not be healthy for you. I'm planning on having him be healthy and do a lot of fun things when we are 100 (years old) I hope."

As we know not reporting injuries is bad mmmmkay

    Easy defence though.

"Oh I just meant he had a concussion in the offseason, and I'm worried he'd get a second one playing football is all...."

    :)

In other news, Giselle could do with shutting up when it comes to football.

The Patriots will just say when did Giselle become a doctor? And play it off as nothing more than a wife being worried.

She might be right, but the quote is all over the place and not very coherent.
I can't remember of a time last season where I thought that hit/landing was to the head and Brady looked a bit groggy or shook-up.
But it's the off-season, so it'll fill some dead air for a bit.

Teams cant be held responsible for players who hide symptoms from doctors though.

Sometimes there are no visible symptoms, I got hit a couple of times where I was fine but briefly saw some stars and was left with a lingering headache for 10-15 minutes, no one would have been able to tell I had a grade 1 concussion if I didn't want them to.
Again, depending on symptoms, even a grade 2 can be covered up if a player is careful in what he says/does around a doctor.

I imagine it is more due to the history of concussion in the nfl. They have a history of covering these things up so they are wondering if the Pats covered up Brady without a proper check.

I think it is a fair enough question as the nfl and sports teams in general have not earned much leeway in this regard. Maybe it was not the doctor's fault but we need to be sure.

They'll probably lose a few draft picks over it - no biggie. ;)

I'd say Goodell and the league is pretty wary after suffering the humiliation of watching Brady & his boys getting another ring, despite their best efforts trying to prevent it happening.

Or it could be the culture around and knowledge of concussions has gotten better. I mean the game has gotten safer in regards to head injuries. I realise that's not much comfort to the former players who are now suffering the consequences of a different attitude to head injuries.

Anyone got any spare change lying about? Because I see Aston Martin have made Brady the face of their brand and are going to make 12 exclusive TB12's - a limited edition model for the privileged amongst us.

Andrew Hawkins is signing with the Pats into a very crowded WR position.

Hawkins just got his master’s degree in sports management from Columbia University, completing it with a 4.0 GPA:

This has to be hands down the most talented roster we've ever had going into an offseason.
We're at a point where we'll have to cut guys who could easily be starters on other teams.

From an offensive stand point, I'd rate our activity this year to be more exciting than 2007. The acquisition of Brandin Cooks was a move I never saw coming and it blew my mind. He's the kinda of player I always wanted Brady to have and it's a well deserved present for a player who has done so much for the franchise.

I just hope the OL can kick on from last season. Give Brady time in the pocket = winning. I'm really excited to see how the secondary goes, if Butler and Gilmore can click, they could be special.

Credit to Butler for being a professional and getting on with it. He could have sulked when we spent money on another CB instead of him. But he didn't, he's turned up for OTA's and got down to work. Gilmore for me has a lot to prove and I think we've overpaid him based on his recent body of work. As you said, if both can click they could make a strong team and hopefully they will. I also hope we do give Butler his pay day. He's a good kid, a very good professional, a hard luck UDFA story that developed a fairy-tale career with us. So not rewarding the kid would sicking me tbh.

Sentiment will play no part in it, of that you can be sure.

That's for sure, but I'm just hoping he earns his pay day and gets it.......with us.

See Harris released by the Jets wouldn't be a bad acquisition to bring through camp and see if still has got it. Decker apparently about to be released or traded. If we weren't already stacked I would grab him also.

Saw an interesting article on NFL.com where someone asked the question about the NE 2nd group as a starting offence elsewhere:

    QB; Jimmy G
RB; James White, Rex Burkhead (I'm assuming Gillislee and Lewis are 1&2 for now)
    TE; Dwayne Allen
WR; Malcolm Mitchell, Andrew Hawkins, Danny Amendola

If you were to take this group as a whole (no picking single players), what teams do you think would be improved?

I reckon; JETS, Browns, 49ers, Bears

Jaguars also I think. Adding their 3 WR to this group would be a solid offense I think.

It's not an addition though, it's a replacement. The NE 2nd's are their offence....

I didn't pick the Jags as I reckon the addition of Fournette will make their O stronger than this group.

Oh in that case the only 4 teams are the ones you mentioned but seen as I read it wrong I actually think the Patriots 2nd offense lacks depth though. White and Burkhead are not all down backs and would need help and that WR corp would need help also. But I stand corrected.

Dont see this being better than the browns tbh.

    Crowell is a solid rb
britt is a great wr and there is potential in coleman
njoku has potential to be a top pass catching te

I wouldn't call Britt great he has a career plagued with injuries and inconsistency. Last season was the first time he went over 1,000 yards in his career and even then he only had 2 x100 yad games. A lot of his yards came in garbage time also. It did help Britt that he had someone throwing to him though as him and Keenum got on the same page. Britt was had a lot of potential coming out of college but never really lived up to it. If the Browns can give him a decent QB he might continue on with another 1k season but great he is not.

Having said that though I would put him on the same level as Mitchell, Hawkins and Amendola. So no real upgrade or downgrade just a straight swap.

Coleman has bags of potential and injury didn't help him but like Britt needs a QB to throw to him and the Browns will hope Osweiller gives them that

QB: Vince Young (7), Kerry Collins (5)

    QB: Matt Hasselbeck (3)

QB: Jake Locker (9), Matt Hasselbeck (5)

QB: Jake Locker (6), Ryan Fitzpatrick (6)

QB: Austin Davis (8), Shaun Hill (8)

QB: Nick Foles (11), Case Keenum (5)

QB: Case Keenum (7), Gared Goff

Now hands up, i am a britt fan boy.

But look at the quarterbacks he's had throwing to him during his career. I genuinly think if britt had had a better landing spot coming out of college he would have had a top 15 wr career.
