crowds of people being lead out of the area with their hands on their head? To stop phones/ footage?

low-quality phone footage is probably the least of their worries.

Multiple incidents and guessing any suspects will try to blend in if/when they can if it suits their needs.

Where is the number to call for if you have family and friends in london?

Call your friends and family, there won't be a number.

"The problem here of course is that the police want to do their job..." - the inconsiderate bastards. Come on lads, let the Sky cameras through.

Ffs. Is there any better live stream that I can watch or listen to online rather than this muck on Sky News?

And yet despite all that two Chechnyans still managed to get into the States and bomb the Boston marathon. If someone is determined enough to carry out a terrorist attack the chances are that in many cases they will succeed in doing so, regardless of what country they're in.

The states has got off incredibly lightly if you exclude 9/11, Western Europe and Israel has really bourne the brunt of of the Islamic terror recently. As for Ireland it is not a question of if but when we will see something similar here.

If you're looking for a Dept of Foreign Affairs incident room number, it will be the morning at least before that is done, if at all. You could google the Irish Embassy in London and call in case they have staff in yet, though with various lockdowns that may itself be delayed.

Your best bet is to keep trying contact your loved ones directly

why is being against extremist islam fascist?

Pegida are fascists. I'm not going to bother arguing with you on that one. If Islam didn't exist, they'd be after someone else.

But to say that every Muslim has it in them to break into a murderous rage and start killing all and sundry around them is scaremongering bullsh*t of the highest order.

But to say that everybody has it in them to shoot people if everybody could have a gun is scaremongering bull**** of the highest order.
So probably guns should be freely available to every one ?

I still think we are better of without them. And the world would be a better place without Islam.

Rather than separate incidents is it possible these guys are on the run into the other areas? Don't know how close they are together.

Yes. All the reported areas are all in the same vicinity. A few miles at most. It looks like the perpetrators haven't' been caught but that's just speculation.

That could be just a Muslim man in the video wearing traditional dress. He may have nothing at all to do with this attack. And as someone with experience of wearing dresses, they are restrictive and not something many people would choose to wear on a murder spree.

Makes sense they want to stop people videotaping/taking photos. You can be guaranteed that 99% of those will end up on social media and you don't exactly want police movements ending up on there.

You're ignoring the basic fact of home grown terrorism , building a Trump wall around the island won't stop future incidents like this, as much as you'd like to think it would. It needs to be tackled at the root somehow.

NO, I am NOT ignoring it. I am, plain as day, pointing out the fact that YES, this terrorism is homegrown.

I'm just going that awkward (for some) extra step and realising that its homegrown within a non-indigenous community. Is that a lie? Too uncomfortable to admit? Why don't you bring up the IRA for full point whataboutism?

And I have already CLEARLY stated that I, personally, believe that the overall solution BEGINS with closing borders. But your mind doesn't want to register that, so you don't "read" it, instead seeing what you want to see.

Apparently some twitter users made up fake posts saying they had loved ones they couldnt contact? What the hell is wrong with people, why would you do this for attention

Saying this has "nothing to do with Islam" presupposes that a "true Islam" exists. But how are we going to democratically decide who speaks for "true Islam"?

    Evidently we cannot.

Religious texts, by their very definition, are open to all manner of discrepant interpretations. When someone chooses to adopt one interpretation over the other is neither here nor there. Neither side can disprove the other.

The certainty that comes with religious adherence is what fuels the certainty that killing Western citizens is a morally obligatory act.

Is this thread about the ra yet?

No, but it is amazing how some of them come on here to condemn the new breed of terrorists, while defending their own lot to the hilt.... sickening.

How many more have to die before we're allowed say that there's a problem with Islam? And don't give me that "whatabouttheChristians" spiel

Nobody denies there's a problem with (radical) Islam these days. The problem is that there's no easy solution. Some people struggle with this because they think everything is black and white.

And if all that security wasn't there maybe there'd be two hundred Chechnyan bombers.
