Gosh Adox that's some wait for the results - I had mine in Sligo got initial results straight after the procedure and just a follow up clinic appointment about 6 weeks later. Got my appointment in about 2 weeks too ( maybe things have got so bad I should book next year's appointment now)

Yeah I've to go back in three years for another colonoscopy. Beaumont rang me in March to discuss the results. March!! I had the colonoscopy in September the previous year!
When they asked had my symptoms cleared up and I told them they were still the same they were very helpful to be fair. They said I needed to come back in to see one of the team again so. (I expected the usual months and months of wait for an appointment). They told me they would send an appointment out in the post and they would see me within a month.

No sign of a letter two weeks later and I had given up on the timeframe. The following week a letter arrived with an appointment for 10 days later, nearly exactly a month from the phone call. Went in and they said about getting the Proctogram done and it would take a couple of months at least for an appointment. Rang the secretary after about a month after not receiving an appointment to make sure I was still lined up for one. She told me that there was very long waiting lists for all their clinics and procedures, some up to two years and I would have to wait. She was really unhelpful and couldn't wait to get me off the phone.

Anyway out of the blue today I get a phone call from Beaumont to say they have a slot on Wednesday that has become available if I want to take it! I was equally delighted and nervous but after waiting for months on end between appointments/procedures, dragging my problems into years at this stage it was a no brainer to say yes.

Im back in on Monday morning again for my second one! I had it in my head that it was a 5 year follow up but no - 3.

Got a call a couple of weeks ago about it and queried it but its correct and they gave me an appointment for the 17th, which is really quick.

Got the script and info pack in the post today and unlike the first time it includes advice on going on a low fibre diet 3 days beforehand. Hopefully this makes taking the prep a bit easier on me(I eat a very high fibre diet and did so as normal up until fasting the last time)

Been in and out of the clinic regularly since the last one. Also got physio and am doing physio at home everyday following proctogram results. my pelvic floor is very tight and closes too quickly when going, sort of the opposite of what can happen to pregnant women.
