We've had our warning I don't think we'll be complacent its great to be getting the few injured lads back they'll u21 match Wednesday week could give us a extra players or two for the senior panel on the 10th if they hurl well

Agree completely and it is in no way sour grapes or being a bad looser but while it may have been exciting and great viewing for the neutral the standard of hurling was very poor, it was non-existant defending from both teams and it tuned into a shoot out with the team with more pace winning.

We all agree that the sweeper is a blight on the game and something that nobody wants but jaysus their has to be a balance, a happy medium if you like.

Tipp are not great and currently are beatable by Galway Waterford and Cork. If we had a good fullback and another good scoring forward we'd beat them all but we haven't and there it is. We may reach the semis with what we have if we get the breaks.

Any news on how leahy is now. I know he was rested last weekend. Will aylward start ahead of him in wexford park? I know it was said here also that cody is not ruling out padraig but he must be a serious doubt if he is still in the boot?

Everyone I've talked to from home (none of them particularly close to P Walsh though, so this isn't some kind of confirmation of anything) seems to be saying he's out for the Wexford match. Be interesting to see how they line up without him, if that's true. There's no good answer, really.

I can't see him starting v wexford. I hope I am wrong and would love to see him fit. We need to be very agressive on the 10th. The possible or probable inclusion of mick fennelly and ger aylward will hopefully give us a few options we didn't have so far this year. A fit leahy will also be an option off the bench. Any news on how the panel is going? Is it being cut back shortly? Or is anyone putting their hands up for inclusion that hadn't been already?

I think Aylward will start, he looked good against Tullaroan. I would be amazed if Padraig plays. I expect Joey Holden will be full back.

Yeah its hard to know with padraig his to see a specialist this week so maybe we'll know more then if his out will he put joey there?i doubt it but what are our options or who's being training at 3?there's still positions up for grabs and fennelly and alyward will most likely start kevin kelly will also be a help to the panel maybe he could play further out the field.If walsh is out id have joyce at 3 and cleere at six with fogarty and buckley on the wings,lester and fennelly mf.4 of the 6 forwards should pick themselves and alyward will be a help up front with the last spot between blanchfield,kelly,johnjo etc

It was said here michael malone was dropped but I imagine a few of the fringe u21 players like morrissey,alan murphy are cut to concentrate on the u21.the match next week is absolutely huge if the likes of darren mullen,john walsh,luke scanlon or conor delaney go well they'll surely put there hand up for inclusion.
Anyone any idea the u21 team will be like?Andy gaffney scored 4 goals against danesfort last weekend,cian o donoghue has being good for tullogher likewise kevin farrell for cshock

Will Mick Fennelly start in the Leinster game? If so, could he be an option at No. 6? With his experience and just protecting the 'D' instead of being flat out at mid-field.

Conor Delaney has been immense for Comer in the first 3 games. Realistic option at 3 for the Wexford game.

I wouldn't think that especially after the league quarter final going down there to play them in Wexford park home crowd.

I was at the Comer match and was very impressed with Conor Delaney... very intelligent full back for a young fella.

I also thought Conor Fogarty was immense at number six and could certainly do a job there for the County.

Does anyone know how old the young Feehan chap playing in midfield for Comer is???, He scored four points from play and had a fantastic game in general but I notice he's not on the U21 panel.

A lad with one leg would have looked good in that match

Seen the first 2 Comer games and Delaney was excellent, he did a great man marking job on John Walsh in the first game, think he's a great prospect, it's a pity he didn't get a run during the league but could be a good option at corner back.

I think Feehan was minor last year but it possibly could have been the year before definitely still U-21 this year

As someone else said I wouldn't be that suprised to c him close to the team for the Wexford game I think his an excellent prospect
He was on the panel for some league games but think he got injured near the end
Haven't heard much bout the 21s but it's nearly as big as the senior game there's some exciting players on our team and a few with senior experience.hopefully leahy will be back

+1. Haven't seen much of him but along with Fogarty he was the main man against the Rower.

Fogarty was centre back last year v Waterford and was cleaned by Gleeson, didnt have the aerial presence or speed to match him there. not his biggest fan, better off as a workhorse around the middle

I personally don't think centre-back is Fogarty's best position for the senior inter-county team... But in his defence, Gleeson was bloody unplayable that day. No matter who we had marking him, he would have been plucking those balls out of the air for fun. And Gleeson out ran a lot more our players than just Fogarty that day.

+1 remember he out fetched tj a few times which is a very hard thing to do.I don't get the negative criticism of Fogarty his being very good since his move out from corner back.wasn't as good last year as the previous 2 years but a very important player for us.he was good in the league against cork and tipp and a loss against wexford granted he was poor the 1st day against waterford.
