Was talking to that man today, he said that other lads are collecting lambs as well.

Im an hour from cavan just wondering is there anywhere closer.

Did anyone go to cavan and what was the protocol as i may need to send someone if i dont have time

Would it be worth having a chat with the local mart, allot of lambs would be bought for factory/export & they could hook you up.
    Carrigallen maybe your best bet

Thats an awful pity, 120 dead and hundreds probably dehydrated. This kind of thing could put a stop to a good alternative market for lambs

tbh I'd rather take a few euro less for my lambs than sell to live export, becides the travel issue, I'm not a fan of the slaughter ritual,

    Just my views.

It was regrettable but that this happened but I witnessed halal slaughter before and It's very swift. The lamb goes into shock instantly. Only for the Muslims and this live trade the sheep job would be ffcked lads.

There should be more festivals, could we resurrect an old pagan festival or 2 & tell everyone they have to only eat lamb

You want to tell people it's something similar to lent and that they're NOT allowed eat lamb unless they want to be condemned to eternal damnation.

I sent lambs and assumed that they were destined for europe to be killed halal and eaten......but on agriland today i seen they went for the korban festival which is a animal sacrafice thing! I dont like the idea of putting such time and care into raising animals for quality carcass and then they are just slaughtered as a sacrafice...its horrible if you look it up on youtube !

Just a quick question for some of you that exported lambs last year.
Was one eid tag adequate for the lambs?

Just going to order tags and I see you can now order single eid tag As apposed to the pair.

A pair of matching EID tags required for any export,

It said spread the word on the text so I assume no harm saying which mart.. Tullow mart. Didn't get any more information regarding price per kg but it did say lamb on the text so I assume it is lamb and not hogget although you'd be some man having not slaughtered a spring lamb at 47kg at this time of the year!

    Hi all,

Any word on exporting lambs this year,

I have lambs fit for factory but with price drop i would hold them for the shippers if going ahead.

I'd agree, lamb price always struggle from july - October, don't think this year will be any different

I think it's lighter lambs they will be looking for instead of factory ready
