    I ordered some for last years calves and the price and some older cattle and the price of a couple of tags were knocked off the bill ordering online. The number knocked off corresponded with the calves.

    Rather than start a new thread;

    Am I right in saying that cattle born before 01 July 2022 - if they loose a tag, an ordinary Visual Tag (not an EID one) is sufficient for a replacement. if so, can you point me to a link that says so, thanks.

    I have to order a few replacement Tags for older cows.

    Yes you are correct. Click on point no 9 (Service on Agfood.ie) on the link attached - Edit to add it opens on the correct page.

    Bovine EID Tag Subsidy Scheme

    "All bovines born on or after 1 July 2022 are required to be tagged and registered with a tag set containing an electronic identification (EID) tag. This scheme was developed to assist farmers in transitioning to this new system of electronic identification by subsidising the cost of new white EID tag sets at a rate of €1 per tag set for the first 100 tag sets purchased within the lifetime of the scheme. The scheme will operate over 3 years (2022 to 2024 inclusive). Payments for year 1 of the scheme will commence in November 2022. The terms and conditions of this scheme are outlined in the document below. If you have any questions on this scheme, please contact AIM Division on 01-5058880."
