Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    (Not)Iroced still has Capoue.

And he completely lost his marbles to play AOA to bring on Capoue.

    Yes. Capoue.

And as a result he beats me in the Prem.

    Capoue.

    (Not)Iroced. Mental bastárd.

Edit....Mixed up team names. It wasn't Iroced. Phew. I was worried about you there pal!!

Beat the leader to give the rest of us some hope of catching him

The real cool Frenchies don't need Capoue 8 points neither the useless feckin' game ruining chips when they can have Holebas 8 points to sub in :D .

Fifth defeat in a row this week and almost certain to be relegated.

Lost to iroced this week so perhaps the most appropriate quote would be :

My centre is yielding. My right is retreating. Situation excellent. I shall attack!

    Héhé great quote :D!

Are you in that bad a position though? Thought it was very tight at the bottom...

I'm honestly feeling sorry for you since I have nothing to play for now and I made all the wrong calls for this GW but got somehow saved by my team enabler Marten De Roon.

A much needed win to ease the relegation fears. Probably need one more win to be safe.

A much needed win here also with the pack closing in behind me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,826 ✭✭✭✭dahat

Another win for me...getting close at the top but suspect it's too late personally.

A much needed win to keep closing in behind you. ;)

I'd say at this stage it's either me or you that will get that third relegation spot!

I'd say with attrition that third spot won't matter, likely only 2 will be relegated.

Depends on the OR of the person in 4th place in the Championship too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

On a ridiculously bad run of form at the moment 8 loses from the last 9 games. Reckon I still need a win to be assured of safety

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

If you can't be top of the league it's some consolation to be the highest scorer to date.

H2H is a funny old game.

Its a matter of pride though. :)

There's no honour in staying up on a technicality. ;)

A win! Past that 50 point mark at last.

Top 2 lose I believe. Donegal and Cavan closing in... ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,056 ✭✭✭Sooner or Later

Critical win in the relegation six pointer against Gillespie Road.
That almost certainly sends him down along with Maybe Captain Lukaku.
The big question is can I do enough to stay ahead of thunderdog in the last three games?

Two 96 point scores in the league this week. Somehow they manage to play each other and draw.

I thought I had lost until Cech picked up that 1 bonus point, it would have been a killer to lose 96-95

It's getting very interesting in the relegation battle.
I'm six points ahead of thunderdog with two games to go and my next game is against...thunderdog.
Win or a draw and I am safe, lose and it may go down to goal difference.

My only hope is that 30:19 (who is 4 points ahead of me) hasn't made a transfer since GW20 so if he gets 2 losses, I need to get at least one win and a draw. So if you go do me a solid and draw with me this week, that would be great ;)

We talked about it in the Charity Champions League Thread.
Maybe the regulars who did not participate in it missed this sad info.

OK I didn't realise that. Maybe we could name the gw 38 match day thread after him and explain it in that.

V good idea. Would also think that the charity tournament be run annually as the Zarquon Memorial Tournament with the monies raised going to his nominated charity from this year.

Edit - would have no prob in organising or helping to organise

My God lads, I have to admit I've welled up when I read that just now. I had good craic with him when he won the inaugural Premier league beating me into second.
There's no words but I'd just like to log my condolences if such a thing is worth anything. :( RIP buddy.

Good job on the win-thats me relegated to the championship-my plan is to set up a work league next year to get a bit of competitiveness going and get my ranking up to a decent level. The last time I had a good ranking (2-10k) was when myself and Iroced (both doing phds under the same supervisor at the time), were in a 1-1 league together. Monday was spent discussing the weekend results in depth (much to the demise of our third female counterpart!) and then all of Friday setting up our teams for the week. Needless to say it took us ages to actually finish our phds but we got quite good at fantasy football at the time! Time well spent if you ask me ;)

I was all set for a win this week until Harry Kane scored another two!

I took a hell of a pasting too. With the hounds circling behind me, I'm in a game that I'd see myself as narrow underdog for. To be ahead for so much of the season and lose it on the last day would sting.

It will be both epic and spectacular if you lose this on the last day...to me especially!!!!

I think being in with an outside chance in this on the last day is achievement enough for me.

    Good luck all. ;)

Yeah. Good old times :D! The TCD Physcis League was also great craic and good motivation for us.
I did have a good season afterwards and may get a good one this year but the lack of real-life interactions about the game makes the interest wane a bit.

Pity you go down. At least, that'll give you something to fight for next year ;). Though, with H2H leagues you could win the bloody game and get relegated :p.
