A man found driving over the food limit was banned from driving today by McDonalds District Court. When asked by the judge if he had any last words with great remorse he weeped "The sea bass wasn't enough. I couldn't resist the cheesecake dessert and expresso". Another monster off our roads thankfully.

    definatley,

Danny Healy Rae is mocking Dubliners by saying his nonsense. He doesn't believe it, nor do his constituents in Kerry.

    Kerrymen say to themselves
'See what Danny says. Them dubs are so stupid to believe that Danny actually thinks that. Danny is just trolling them jacks.'

Danny's not the brightest. He could believe this stuff. Mike is sharp and runs rings around the media, Danny isn't.

Guess that means we should legislate on portion sizes. Win/Win on the obesity epidemic too.

He could do with a limit on portion sizes himself, so not a bad idea.

Takeaway drivers to be banned for facilitating this crimewave of eating and driving.

I agree with his point that sleep debt can be a major cause of driving accidents.

    hasn't that been made already?

Haven't the RSA actively been doing campaigns around tiredness for years now?

Do we really need some publican in the dail equivocating tiredness with consuming alcohol?

Not really self made. When the parents split up, Danny stuck with the Dad and got the bar and plant hire business. Mike stuck with his Mam.

If you think he's stupid, check who the top 20 suppliers to Kerry County Council are. Then see how many of those businesses are run or owned by the Healy Rae dynasty.

In The Promise of Sleep by William C Dement he found that sleep debt plus alcohol is five times more dangerous than alcohol alone.

that would be great for Danny's position if publicans did most of their business in the AM

Bring back the pale and give it and the rest of the country separate parliaments.

And raise their own taxes obviously.

Then these parish pump cretins and their supporters can frolic in their natural habitat.

there are people who voted for this guy that have the gall to chastise othes for their electoral decisions.

this guys election to our national parliament proves to me that irish voters are morons

    Dubliners and non-Kerrymen say
'See that dope Danny. He's a redneck caveman. What a fool'.

But Danny gets elected. Danny doesn't care as long as he's getting paid and he has a seat for life. Lots of other businesses too.

So Kerrymen are stupid enough to waste their vote?

    It is a democracy.

I was in court in Kerry a few years ago. This Kerry Man was up in front of the judge for being drunk and disorderly. Next the man who was accused of being drunk and disorderly asked the judge. Did ever see the `hucklebuck` do you want see me do the `hucklebuck dance and he then starts dancing in front of the judge. In the court house the whole court busted out laughing and the judge said he is not right in the head case dismissed. people outside the court where call him a fool and the Kerry man said who is the fool now I got off with it.

I remember the father, during some debate, being asked who he actually represented. His reply was "I represents the sort of papal what ates der dinner in de middle of de day!"

So no driving in the afternoon either then.

The people who vote for him are the Irish version of Trump voters.

If they disagree with what he says then 'he wasn't being literal' or 'the dublin meeeja are just out to get him'.

When you add to that he amount of stuff the family get put through for their constituents ('he fixed da road') then you can see why it doesn't turn people off voting for him.

I'd have no problem if he was a local councilor, as that is the role he is actually doing, but the fact he, and other one issue/local focused independents, can be elected to national government show that the election system is broken.
