Damn, there goes my big romantic proposal. Better ring and cancel the hot air balloon.

Don't worry, you'll meet the right guy eventually.

I would have to go back in a time machine 25 years to do so, since that is when we met and soon married.

You, on the other hand would have to time machine back at least 100 years to meet someone who uses the same vernacular.:D

Thankfully I met her 22 years ago ;-)

I was chatting to a lady through an online dating site in the last few weeks.

She used exclamation marks in place of full stops. In situations where the context warranted an exclamation mark, she put two. When we moved to communicating by text, this continued.

It annoyed me in an irrational manner. She was well educated and I couldn't figure out what the story was. I wanted to send a message saying "What's the deal with the exclamation marks"? I didn't though. Communication fizzled out, not sure she was ever that in to me.

Maybe she was put off by my use of full-stops.

I use exclamation marks because full stops in texts seem really mean :o

My personality (IQ?) seems a lot different through text than real life because I tend to worry that my texts seem mean or formal so I try to make them seem nicer or more casual by using unnecessary exclamation marks and saying things like lol or haha, something I know is unnecessary and makes me look stupid but I'd rather appear silly than mean so I take the risk!
Sometimes I will realise that I've used too many exclamation marks and so I'll change some to full stops. So I'm fully aware how awful it is, the fact she used two at times makes me think she over thinks it like I do!

Am I missing something? What's a green text?

Accent. The Northern Irish accent grinds my gears. I had this gorgeous blonde coming onto me at a party a few years ago, but I avoided her because of her accent :(

I love the northern accent. I hate a thick inner city Dublin one tho . I love the derry accent.

Don't mind the culottes, look at those pointy elbows.
    No way

Ginger hair, especially where the carpet matches the curtains.

Even worse if the curtains should match the carpet, but the curtains have been dyed. Something sneaky about that, so would be a deal breaker.

iMessages are green. If you get a blue text, they don't have an iPhone.
Definitely the most shallow response in the thread so far! :P

I use emojis in whatsapp but am scared to in text in case their phone is different and they don't transfer properly! I really over think all this text malarkey and if you saw the texts I send...it looks like a 15 year old sent them, but a friendly 15 year old.... lol :p

I'm thinking like what Neil Oliver wears, just a small silver band. I find male arms quite erotic, and something like this just ads a bit to that :D
Why do the women love this man?

Because there's a difference between conventionally handsome and sexy.

    And the accent doesn't hurt.

    Men who wear skinny jeans.

Any men who can wearr them well is too young for me! Skinny jeans on men 30 plus is a massive turn off.

I'd be the same about the holster but I have to confess with the size of phones now I think they're practical for men, I mean where the **** do they put their phones?

I put my phone in my jacket pocket, along with my wallet and keys. I don't care how hot it is - I never go out without a jacket because it's still less uncomfortable than having to stuff everything into trouser pockets.

My shallowest deal-breaker is that I don't think I'd be able to stay with someone who says "happy days" when something good happens.

Fair point tbh, but can someone explain the revulsion of skinny jeans on men and even women?

Is it more of a fashion statement or comfort?

While Id agree that it isn't necessarily a sign of intelligence id say the average smart person knows more about politics than the average stupid person. Its quite ignorant to know nothing about how the society you live in is run or governed

Very few people would know nothing about it. But anything more than that is an interest like any other. Well versed in art, science, music but know little of politics - unintelligent? GTFO.

No, they still look awful. Chopping off her no doubt fantastic legs halfway down the calf. Very unflattering.

They're so over right now. Anyone still wearing skinny jeans in 2017 is not on the fashion ball.

Skinny jeans are a modern style classic. Been around for the last decade for a reason. Who cares about current trends? Style > fashion.

Height: I'm tall - anything under 5'10' doesn't work for me. And if it's on a dating site, I usually look for profiles that say 6 foot - because men ALWAYS fcuking lie about that and round it off. It's like 'did you think I'd shrink before we met up?'. Not kidding.

Hands: No tiny feminine hands, please.

Stubble: Have some. Beard - that works too.

Frame: I don't do skinny. They don't need to be jacked, but not thinner than me.

Pretty boys: No. Give me strong forearms, some chest hair, and the aforementioned stubble/beard instead please. I don't want to date someone who looks like an elongated version of their 16 year old self.

    Smell: BO = Bye Bye.

'Pet' names & spelling: Calling me 'hun', 'sexy', or writing anything along the lines of 'hw ru'. If it's online, I won't respond, ever. If it's in real-life, I might grin and bear 'hun' for a while but I'd eventually call him out on it. I hate the word 'sexy', it just bugs me. I've had worse, but I'd only be inviting drama if I mentioned them here. Oh, and if you can't form actual sentences, I'll be forced to shoot you down mid-conversation. It's lazy.

    Jeez, and I thought I wasn't shallow. :o

Of whom? I mean in general. Big guys with smaller hands than me; it's just off-putting.

But that's my preference, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it:)
