    The Northern Mid Atlantic Ridge had 44 earthquakes in the past 365 days with 3 in the last 30 days.

    There is only water between us and the Ridge so we would be funked if that Ridge popped like a springboard

    tsunami is a tidal wave from a earthquake under water you could have a earthquake on land also.

    im wondering about,so if a WATER tsunami hit Ireland the island and the world is a dishwasher and Ireland is a small part where are we best placed ?

    It's all about elevation.

    If you live 50 km from the shore in flat Holland you're fecked, if you are on a hill in the Wicklow coast half a km from the sea you're fine.

    Tsunami's can be caused by earthquakes, landslides and explosions and other stuff causing a large shift of water.
