Why? Most of the songs just sound like any other? There's no difference at all. Ireland probably has sent the most dull bland classic eurovision songs as well, we're the strangest if anything. Still stuck in the 80's. It's a massive pan European contest but Irish people are obsessed with lampooning it with 'My Lovely Horse' references, a parody that made sense when the Eurovision was stuck in the 70s.

Continental Europeans are a strange lot, is my main take away from this show.

Those Swedish kids looked even more annoying than Jedward, they all seem like retarded liberals, and that Georgian guy is surely a cat shagger.

    how did that win ???

There is no way every jury from Azerbaijan to Belgium would all agree that was the best song. How could they?? It was such a basic song and was no different to any song one would hear in the 1940's or so. Ridiculous.

Portugal achieve victory through their strategic placing on the isolated western coast of southern Europe.

The Belgian and Moldovan songs were my favourite. Enjoyable show, as always.

Presenters weren't as good as last year. The presenters last year were actually funny and probably did a better parody of the contest than the Father Ted episode.

Thought that the standard was poor this year, even by the usually poor standards of the Eurovision. I didn't think the winning song was amazing, but I suppose it was something a bit different.

Why are Australia in the Eurovision song contest? Leave it to you know the EUROPEANS.

When I was a kid in the 80s, I wondered why Israel were in it...

(I won't mention soccer competitions, more recently.)

I just heard the winning song for the first time. All I could think was: 'Moon River'. But that's not a bad thing...

Thank god that song didn't get in. Among Ireland's worst and most embarrassing entries. No character, no substance, no identity - modern Ireland in a nutshell, not surprising from a bankrupt country, intent on making its population homeless, and getting them to pay for hard industrially fluoridated water unfit for human consumption.

He looked and sounded like a eunuch whose balls may never drop. Hope they do. Ireland used to be a country with real men and real women who could win this thing. We used to be a lot of things, alas. Last year was ok, and deserved to get in. I'll admit that.

Always makes me laugh thinking about people like this living in a country thats actually even slightly difficult to live in
