A new update was released in early may and seems to have solved most of the blacked out channels.

Yes, I like football but not enough to pay 40/60/80 per month or whatever it costs so Shrek Rooney can get paid £240,000 per week.

Again you're naive to think this is not happening already.

Also I'm not really talking about end users here. How feasible is it to have illegal broadcast quality IPTV services on a large scale? Where is it served from? Who pays the transit costs? This will be noticed.

look at the crappy free streaming sites that everybody has heard of that they can't manage to shut down, hosted in Russia or Eastern Europe or god knows where. they've given up trying to shut them down themselves and are trying to get ISPs to block them through the courts.

and that's the big free ones. me and all my friends have subs to loads of different small, paid IPTV services with reliable backends and HD channels of sky sports, ESPN, HBO, etc.

Yes but you don't I presume watch these for hours on end per day. I am talking about replacing on a large scale a tried and tested broadcast delivery system. People will get fed up when they have paid money and the service goes down. It is not a trivial problem to solve.

Listen , at the end of the day to many people providing cccam files and hardware have to much to lose by not solving this issue. It might be a month or a year or two but this wont be the end of card sharing. The reason why hd wasnt solved is because people were happy with sd for 50 quid a year.

This is a good thing as i feel hd will also be cracked again now.

There are definitely a lot of people involved at the periphery but the number of people with the actual technical knowledge and skills needed to defeat this, if it can even be defeated, is small. Some reports have said that names were leaked so I would not beholding my breath waiting for this to be fixed anytime soon.

Sorry but thats just not true, one of the largest and fasted growing sectors are software development/Computer science, along with Engineering

Most 3rd level students and hobbyists alike will understand it, nevermind fully qualified professionals who do it for a living.

Although admittedly, understanding it is one thing and cracking it is another.

It'll will be done in time.

Your average 3rd level student or hobbyist is not going to have the knowledge to defeat this. You are doing a disservice to those that do have such skills. How many software developers are actively working daily in advanced encryption techniques and are willing to break the law risking their livelihoods? It may be done in time but how much time is the question.

A lot of overnight discussion on this thread. I've reviewed the thread and while I appreciate the warning the OP gave, the fact is that there appear to be far too many posters on this thread who are advocates of card sharing and other illegal methods for me to be able to safely leave this thread open. We cannot allow advocacy of anything illegal here
