I find people doing farmers walks in the gym to be really annoying.

They expect the whole area to be kept aside for them to stagger up and down.

Except where they have a dedicated area for it...

The only dedicated areas for farmers walks is out in farmers' fields.

Neither they nor the people walking slowly up and down on one foot have any more right to the area than anybody else

Do you think people squatting in the squat racks have some neck, as well?

My gym has a designated lunges area but people seem to just decide to do them wherever they want, past doorways etc. So annoying.

We've a dedicated skipping area in mine, though it seems to be the only area people don't skip !! Who thinks its a good idea to bring a skipping rope into a reasonably busy gym :rolleyes:

My gym has a 2 lane track marked out in the floor, with pair of dedicated farmers handles. They aren't there for decoration.

Lanes sectioned off from the gym floor for people travelling in straight lines are for people that do exercises like farmers walks, walking lunges etc.

It will as long as people respect the fact that they're areas designated for particular exercises.

MysticMonk, you either a) are hellbent on bringing this thread down or b) don't understand the spirit of the thread. Either way, stop the petty bickering. It's tiresome to read.

    I do cycle.

But I also don't piss in the sink even though I'm entitled to.

You shouldn't cycle in the gym, man. They've got exercise bikes if you want to do that but cycling a bike in the gym is really annoying.

In the gym on Tuesday evening, in one of my exercises I would do bench press and following that set I would do barbell jammers immediately to complete one round.

Big bodybuilder guy who uses the gym walked in and the very first thing he does is ask when will I be done. I told him four more sets. That was grand he kind of kept himself occupied but once I would hop off the bench to use the barbell on the floor beside it for jammers he would lay on the bench and start doing 20-30 quick reps. This continued until I finished my set and to be honest I found it awfully disrespectful. He was just trying to belittle me and give off the impression that I was benching f all along with trying to hurry me.

Tbh I'd say a lot of people would see the same perspective as yourself and realise he was being a dick.

It should skip to the point in the video where he does jammers, if not then go to 4:45.

Edit: Didn't work for embedded video, try this - link.

When you jam your fingers under the barbell does f**k all for strength but does wonders for pain resistance.

Well, "he" seems to be me and your sarcasm in order to take the piss out of me is a bit unnecessary. I was just stating what I was doing so people would know why I was off the bench.
