aaron hernandez psycho or another victim?

the story of aaron hernandez reads like an example of the massive waste of potential
was he just another psycho or is the US culture of violence to blame for the creation of so many psycho killers? I think the latter, what about you?

He got involved in gang life young and clearly just got too much of a taste for it - he was one of the best young players in the NFL and was one year into a 5-6 year, $40mn deal. He was a big name on one of the biggest teams (New England Patriots), as a guy whose #1 job was catching the ball had probably the best quarterback ever passing to him, playing for the best coach ever, and was also seen as pretty marketable. He was 23 years old and had everything going for him. Have to feel terrible for his family, but the guy has no excuses - he had it all, and gave it up for being a scumbag. A number of ex teammates came not long after and didn't exactly have great things to say about him, either.

He was a psycho. Had a long list of incidents and there are probably incidents we don't know of too.

If he didn't play football he would have still been embedded in gang life. Playing football and becoming a millionaire probably just prolonged the inevitable. Although I think he's broke at this stage.

Another point about his finances. He spent millions appealing the second murder incident (of which he was innocent). No matter what, he was spending his life in prison anyway for his first murder. He could have just saved the money and let his wife and child live a comfortable life but instead he blew it all on his own reasons.

he was acquitted of double murder, not sure how that happened but if it was Ireland he would do 5 years for the single slaying

Excuse my ignorance but what was the point in fighting the double murder if he will still serve life for the previous killing? Is there now a chance he will be released based on the acquittal?

Well we've established that he's dead anyway! I read that he was appealing the conviction and since he has died now there is some rule in that state that the charges will be dropped as it was in the process of appeal. Therefore his family will be entitled to his nfl pension as there will be no convictions against his name

No, because they were in appeal at the time of his death. Now the appeals can't be heard so his convictions will be vacated
