Aaron Hernandez committed suicide last night.!

Shocking, he was obviously a nasty character but still a tragedy for his family. Such a waste of talent but that pales into insignificance when you think of the pain he caused

27 years of age, just goes to show how much of a waste of potential he was and a simply terrible person at that. I feel for his family, but for him... nope, nothing. Caught very off guard by the whole thing, mind you.

Pretty harsh there mate, you've no idea what he's been through and passing comment like that is way OTT

I think we have a fair idea what he's been through.

Perhaps you're right. Just feels like he's taking the easy way out, I think for what he did he deserves life in prison.

I don't think suicide is ever an easy way out of anything. That's a horrible, horrible cliche.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,510 ✭✭✭Hazys

Just tragedy and waste everywhere in the Hernandez story. I usually feel sympathy for people who commit suicide as you have to be in a very dark and miserable place for a long time to take your own life but on the other hand, he was a complete scumbag so it takes away a lot of that sympathy.

Usually with any story there is some silver lining that can be found, but the life of Aaron Hernandez is such a tragedy and a shame, its inconceivable how no good came out of such opportunity and talent.

I agree, I don't think suicide is ever an easy way out but i understand why people are saying it in this instance e.g. Hernandez is getting out of his punishment of jail.

But i don't agree with that take though. Hernandez is in jail in the USA not in a torture camp in some 3rd World World country. He has his own cell, he gets visits from his GF and daughter weekly, he's a big dude so probably nobody is bullying him. The worst aspect of his life is probably boredom.

I think suicide was a worse fate than life in prison.

This could all get out of hand.

"not a Saint" is one way of putting it.

OK so you loved him and didn't think he could take his own life. Did you think he could take other people's lives? Presumably not or you wouldn't have loved him, but he still did it.

I don't think anyone wants to believe that someone they care about could take their own life, regardless of their character.

I agree but Adam Shefter retweeting that quite clearly fuels an apparently baseless conspiracy theory purely on the emotional response of people close to Hernandez. It's a bit irresponsible.

No winners in the Aaron Hernandez situation. Him taking his own life is just the final part of a horribly sad story involving a guy who had huge talent but for whatever reason decided to do terrible things.

The same Adam Schefter who tweeted out JPP's medical reports/pictures.

he's got a 5 year old daughter aswell

The poor kid is the real victim in all of this. Fatherless and all because her dad couldn't let go of some real bad company. Which ruining his life and he ended up falling on his own sword because of it.

Reading something on instagram about hernandez.

As he died while appealing it means he hasn't been found guilty due to some old law.

This apparently means the Patriots are on the hook for 15 million in guarantee money which his daughter will get

    May be bull**** though
