Ordered on Thursday, paid for the express courier. The box was being sent to someone so they had tried to ring me but my phone is bust. I got in contact with them on Friday, the courier that they use does not deliver on Saturday. So i have to wait for it today, and there is no info on their website.
I think in future i will just use amazon. It just seems a lot less hassle and cheaper.
With the "express" courier from freetv (€7.50), the price goes up to €126.40 anyway.
Amazon is €115 delivered, and I would have it now.

You can hardly blame them if you are not contactable.
Current lowest Amazon price for Mini twin sat is £99, thats €117.02 on a credit card. Only free Uk delivery, so add €3.95 for Parcel Motel or €3.50 for the an Post version. That's either €120.52 or €120.97. Delivery time will be well over Free.tv's free delivery option, which is mostly next day any way.

Free.TV Edision mini twin sat price is only €113.78 with boards discount (combi is €117.87), delivered quicker than Amazon and parcel motel combined. Even with €7.50 courier that's only €121.38. (combi €125.37) neither of these receivers cost €126.40 with the 7.50 added.

I want to be fair to Irish companies, I don't have shares in Free.Tv and I'm not a trade customer, but I've only ever got value for money and speed of delivery from them.I want to ensure the boards discount remains, so slagging them off is not a good idea. I never pay the 7.50, I reckon I get the courier anyway on the free delivery option.

Amazon have it at £99GBP = €114.70 at the minute, and I have both a Revolut card and N26.
€3.85 for Parcel Wizard (I used them for the last box ordered on Thursday and i received it on Saturday. Another time received on Monday morning). That is a total of €118.55 delivered.
FreeTV is €118.90 after the discount code for the twin (I paid that) + €7.50. So i am not sure where you are getting €113.78.
I do not blame them for me not being contactable, but the address was/is still correct, and they should have gone ahead with delivering it, especially if i have already paid the €7.50 express courier (and the €118.90 for the box).
To not even send it out knowing that they do not deliver on a saturday is poor form. I rang on the Friday to check the status, if the courier had taken it on the Thursday he could have brought it to me after phone call.
That aside, Freetv are not for me. If i had chosen the slow delivert, the postman ould have probably delivered it by now.

If they used an post, it would be held in the post office if you were not at home. I seem to get a courier for all but small stuff.
Current price today for the twin is €113.78 on their site with boards discount, I've just checked. Did you order the twin sat or the combi (1 sat 1 terrestrial) Its abit dearer.
€117.02 is the current Visa exchange rate for £99, but this can vary by the time the transaction is processed. Without the transaction charge of 1.75% the absolute current exchange rate of 1.16169 is €115 for £99, but I've been stung by flickering exchange rates by the time the transaction is processed and hits your card. You can win and lose by a euro or so on 100 quid, but Its nice to have a years warranty with an Irish company, thats worth at east 10%. good luck with the box anyway, its a good choice.

I use Revolut or N26, so i have no charges and get the current exchange rate.

I am at home, so it would not be in the Post Office (which i could collect it from anyway). I am waiting in the house for it.

    My invoice - http://i.imgur.com/UhNf3Ze.jpg

I am not 'slagging' them off. I am saying that i would have had it by now if i used Amazon, and i would, i also would have saved myself roughly €9.

I received it at 4:10pm today. It was missing the F connectors i ordered also.
I am not knocking them, they could be great. They do not suit me.

Two things I see from your invoice, your order total is 103.20 ex vat. The OS twin sat tuner is 100 ex vat, so I'm not sure what the order consists of. The OS combo twin is 103.60 so it can't be it.
Second thing, the 7.50 courier also attracts vat, so courier charge is actually 9.23. At the end of the day, with free delivery the twin sat tuner is 113.77 , which is less than £99 in euros plus 3.85 delivery.

Hello. Is there anyone here that could send me instructions on how to set up card share on a new amika alien 2 box. I have a code got but don't know how to set it up. Thanks.

It consisted of the box and one of these at €0.25c (Which was not packed with it and never arrived).
So i should ring them and complain i got overcharged?
    It was €103.20 + €7.50 + Vat €23.69 - Boards code.
The invoice totals at €126.65 (€0.25c F connector did not appear on it but the price is included).
So it would have been €126.40 by their maths.
    ********************************************************

Regarding their terms mentioned above, Nobody signed anything on receipt of delivery, nor were they asked to, and i must be in the 2% that deliveries do not arrive next day.

I do not get what anyones problem is. All i said was that after my experience with them, they are not for me.
Feel free to use them yourself all you want.

Ring them. the box is only 100 ex vat. 92.50 with boards discount. Add 7.50 for courier (no boards discount on courier). back to €100. Plus vat at 23%. you should pay €123. Thats math you can call out over the phone as the 7.50 discount cancels the 7.50 courier before VAT.

Wait now, did you add an HDMI cable and an F connector? that 2.95 plus .25 which is €103.20 before discount courier and VAT.

I purchased an edision os mega from freetv.ie last Thursday as a treat to myself. The box arrived yesterday (I went for standard delivery), and I got to plug it in and set it up last night. €205 with the boards discount.

I am coming from an Amiko Alien 2, so I was hoping to see have a generally quicker experience with this STB

I got a openvix backup image from TechKings, the install is a piece of cake. Just plug in the USB with the image on it and turn on the STB.

First impressions are good, it is a lot quicker navigating around the menus, changing channels and watching recordings. It took me a while to get the bouquets in a familiar order to the way they were on the AA2, I needed to do this to pass the family usability test. The image I have has a lot more options when it comes to setting up the bouquets, a little consuming tbh but I got there in the end. I was able to plug in my Samsung USB hard drive so no loss of recordings made on the AA2.

The only downside so far is that some of the SD channels appear to be not as clear as on the AA2. I didn't spend long investigating this as it was late, but channels such as be on saorview do not look good on the OS Mega. It is not terrible but it noticeable. Another boardsie recommended adjusting the AV settings to see if that improves, I'll give that a go at some point and see if that improves things.

So happy with performance of the box, definitely a step up from the AA2. I'll report back after I've played with the AV settings.

I have a Edison mini for nearly two years ,but have not done put any new apps or anything on it as a complete noob to sat boxes , but if I can ask why put "openvix" image on it , it come with Enigma2 ,or is this different ??? sorry if thicko question but getting really interested in all this .

Probably better to ask Enigma2 questions (I think that's what you meant) on the Enigma2 thread here. keep this one for best box discussion
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057246289&page=465
But to answer your question, Enigma2 is a term for Open source box operating software, instead of proprietary factory software which the user can't meddle with. There are boxes which have both, such as the Amiko alien, and boxes which just have Enigma2, such as your Edision Mini. There are different versions of Enigm2 for these boxes, openVix is one, Vix4 is a branch of this, there's OpenPli, Hyperion, OpenAtv and many others which are not available for all boxes. By all means download a different image for your box and try it out. OpenAtv is the factory install on Edision boxes generally, but you can specify on purchase with some sellers.

There are a lot of e2 users who stick with openvix as they like it ,i would upgrade my image maybe twice a year on all my boxes.

Guys, can i ask a question here, i am interested in the edision os mini, i had a bit of a rant on a similar thread to this just now, what i would like to know is, if i buy this box, with the help of the internet and you tube, can i load this box with software or firmware, i do not know the exact term, to use this box to its full potential, or get it ready for its full potential without actually activating it by the so-called c**d S*****g. is any discussion of this against the forum rules? I know their are sites where you can download and enter firmware which makes watching any channel you want, and i mean any channel, some people think this is for free, but nothing is for free, you will have to pay someone for the privilege. but to put all the information, which is freely, and as far as i can make out perfectly legal, into this box without taking the last step to actually activate the channel. Can this be talked about on this thread. Or is this a step too far, if it is against the rules then i apologise for bringing this subject up.

    Hiya
The os mini is a great box for its size and price :-)
It's easy enough flash a new image but there's a bit of work in setting up the box with channel lists and that.
You'll also need a hard drive if you want to record

Most definitely not to be talked about. The encyclopedic alien2 Enigma2 thread was closed by the moderator without a warning when a discussion about probable new sky anti piracy measures was bookended by a number of comments openly comparing c s sub costs. The thread is a huge loss. I'd advise you to delete the post or edit out the references and questions, and also ask GYA1 to edit out the quote.

you can buy the box loaded with an image say openvix and can set it up and use it as a freesat box which is legal.

dont use channel lists as when setup with autobouquetmaker daily scans are done to pickup moved channels.

i would also get a 8gb kingston usb for flashing these boxes and to store epg to.= 7 day tv times

Thanks for your replies guy, but as an officially banned person, well for two days, reminds me of south africa in the bad old days.
I will take leave of this thread, i will delete nothing, what i said stands, no change of opinion here.

before you leave read this thread.

then you should delete what you wrote, it was off topic anyway, this thread is about best enigma 2 boxes, not software for boxes.

And to think that I answered your original query by PM. I regret that. BTW, it's ' preceding', not 'proceeding'. You would do well to take Swoofer's advice, and show a little civility at the same time.

This is a technical discussion forum. There is room for banter and levity in here, but If you want to insult contributors I suggest you join faceache or twit land or some other juvenile social media outlet where you can impress yourself and Donald Trump with posturing and innuendo. The mods will enforce forum rules. The contributors just have to mind their manners.

Where was/is the insult? And yes, the forum moderators will enforce the rules, backseat modding is a no-no last I checked.

Theres a lot of self moderation in here because the posters are reguraly discussing what is the best enigma2 box be it for bargain price or spec etc.

The thread is not called "How do I cardshare".

So gobshiites that try to derail it /get it locked with off topic posts are normally told to do one, quite rightly.
