The Dame Tavern (Dame Lane off Dame Steet near Stags Head) or The Boars Head in Capel Street
    2 best racing pubs around
    Dame Tavern 1st

Applicable to watch the GN on Saturday in Dublin? Will be floating around O'Connell St until 3 then want to stop and watch the racing. Might just head to Camden St to my usual racing haunts.

Should be a non runner actually thought he was going to play injured!

I put 10 e/w on him at 9 last night, when I got home I put on sky sports news and the news of his fall breaks.
    Delighted he didn't play.
Even the golfers i back are falling

surprised there was no mention of him around here (unless I've missed it). Awful news, probably doesn't get the credit he deserved for winning the Gold Cup. Still to this day i think he beat Kauto Star in the Betfair chase. RIP

The day that's in it, Aintree, Augusta, drowned out.

    Loved that horse.

Had a small bet on it. I'd have had a bit more if it was over 6 furlongs

Real sad news, loved this horse, still raging Brennan nearly broke him in half when Long Run won the Gold Cup and he was off for the year and didn't come back. Really wasn't a fan of Long Run and was hoping IC would beat him given Kauto and Denman were in their twilights.

I know he's not short a few bob but how much money has been wasted in the last couple of years declaring VVM in grade 1 chases in which she is never going to run. She must have been entered in every grade 1 chase above 2m at Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown in the last 2 years. Entered again in Gold Cup in Punchestown with absolutely zero chance of her running.

Well, I bet a lot of people are glad they got the extra e/w places offered by PP (and some other bookies) on The Masters and Grand National! Two very popular selections finished in the extra places.

McIlroy finished joint 7th in The Masters to give a full place payout (1/5 odds, 8 places) for all e/w punters in PP. You would have lost your money with most bookies.

Vieux Lion Rouge finished 6th in The GN - full place payout in PP, loser with most bookies.

I see that Burn The Boats was claimed by Orlagh Reynolds, a lady whose horse (Elusive in Paris) has just been beaten the last two times by it.

Smart move, claim the horse, retire it and Elusive In Paris can start winning :pac:

Can anyone explain how Luke Morris isnt suspended on a daily basis for using the whip over shoulder level?

Been watching him for a while now and it seems so clear he's infringing - for example the absolute hiding he gave that Mr Pocket to get up for a dead heat in the last there at Bath tonight.

Just spent about an hour this morning (yes-need to get out more) looking at the trainers championship and I can't understand how Mullins isn't favourite. He's around 330,000 down at the moment but looking at Fairyhouse and Punchestown coming up and the likely markets for the Irish National and Grade Ones and going off what they both won outside those races last year, I have Mullins coming out on top by about 120,000 - and that's being very generous to Elliott as I calculated that he will win every race at Limerick and Wexford this week and Tramore next week. Mullins will have the fav in the two Grade Ones at Fairyhouse (Augusta Kate/Let's Dance and Yorkhill). At Punchestown he will have favs in Melon (or 2nd fav), Un de Sceaux, Bellshill, Penhill, Great Field, Nichols Canyon, Annie Power, Let's Dance, 2nd favs Arctic Fire, VVM/Limini, Bapaume/Meri Devie. I have Elliott down for winning the two valuable bumpers at Fairyhouse and Punchestown. The fly in the ointment is the Irish National and at the moment going by the markets, I have Noble Endeavor 3rd and The Crafty Butcher 7th picking up prize money. Elliott will have to win the Irish National to win the title I think. I've already backed Haymount myself at 25/1. I've backed Mullins at 2/1 anyway because I don't think the market realises how much money is still left to play for and that WPM is going to be winning most of it.
This was actually a great shout and I am on it myself.

8/11 Elliott - 11/10 Mullins now, and that is despite Mullins having a bit of a disastrous run.

I have been calculating it all week and based on the odds for each race doing the projected prize money they win each day and by the end of the week. Atm Elliott will have a projected lead of around €40,000 tomorrow night (that's with Mullins having 2nd and 3rd in the Champion Hurdle). Mullins has a strong enough hand then on Saturday in the 2 Grade Ones and The Crafty Butcher, Renneti and Thomas Hobson in the handicaps to turn it around (and that's even if Apple's Jade wins). I would still have Mullins as marginal fav. If Djakadam and Nichols Canyon had won it would be game over already. I'm not joking but I honestly think the title will depend on whether Labaik jumps off. If he doesn't jump and Mullins wins the Champion Hurdle then WP has it won.

Some crazy betting patterns going on this morning.

Labaik has halved in price from 16s. (unless Jack has a taser tzzz tzzz, then its going to plant itself again).

There are several other Mullins/Elliot moves on the card today which are more likely bookies preemptive moves than legit, which is great for the other priced horses. Personally I think Cooper has some great rides today.

BTW Anthony McCann is sending a rake of horses over to Wolverhampton tommorow and 2 stick out like a sore thumb. One was beaten by Locus Standi and the other used to be with Paul Deegan.
