Lads is the game a sell out was talking to a friend who works in Supervalu and they told me there out of tickets.
Do the supermarket get an allowance? Per branch.

It is peculiar atmosphere approaching this game.

On one hand it is "just" league final.

In reality this is the final settling of score. We beat them tomorrow and it is existential death for them. No less!

All the shameful hidings in the past, all the "oh sure the Dubs are grand."

Oh no. This is it. Bury the fkers.

It's still only the league boss. Who ever loses tomorrow, won't care a single jot if they bring Sam home in September.

No, it's not. Still Cusack Upper, Hogan Lower and terrace for sale. Supervalu sell the same tickets that tickets.ie do.

Oh right. But we have 30 years of hurt to get them back for. This decade is shaping up very nicely in the revenge department, but we have two more to go, before we can talk about getting even remotely even with them. We are no where near settling any final scores avec Les Animaux. My only regret about these days of wine and roses, is that Heffo - Lord bless him and save him - is not around to witness them.

Don't think I can stomach a pint now, may have over indulged last night. I'll wait till I hit McGraths to take the edge off.

Well, it is only for a particularly sophisticated palate.

It also contains all the major nutritional requirements such as Vitamin C and.... other stuff

A Bloody Mary, extra tabasco, is my go to cure.

Out with dogs a while ago. Looks like it be a bit cooler than yesterday. No wind.

This definitely feels like it is morning of big championship game.

A lot at stake today, both sides. Anything could happen and probably will!

It's great to be a Dub.

We are living in Halcyon days. Lucky to be witness to the greatest team ever to wear the blue. And quite possibly the greatest team ever to play the game....... okay, that's the vodka part of the pineapple talking :-)

Heading out the door, like the Grand National yesterday, lets hope all dubs make it home safe and sound, especially those on the pitch.

What? In the same glass?

What is this....a 1980's Lionel Richie video?

Nippy enough in Croker, despite all the predictions for heatwaves this weekend. Pack yer anoracks along with yer prawn & coddle sambos.

Fairly defensive stuff from Kildare & Galway so far. Don't think either one is gonna be setting Div 1 on fire next year.

A new one coming out the last day or so is how they "didn't try" last year and we're keeping the powder dry for the Championship.

The mind is boggled at this. Do they know who they're playing?

    :D:D

Well beaten today. Bernard and Philly were particularly poor, we probably missed Connolly who was up to his usual crap. None of our forwards really got into the game other than Kilkenny maybe, and of course Mannion when he came on.

    No excuses lads.

I'll draft my synopsis in me head for the next few hours. Enjoy the pints! No one died, chins up.

Mannion to start in the summer?

Berno wasn't too bad. Some terrible passes to him. Whole full forward line nothing special til Mannion came on tbh.

Lost game in 10 mins after Connolly's black and 15 after half time. Headless and we panicked.

Some iffy decisions but we can't keep getting out of jail with late comebacks. No chance we would have gone unbeaten all season if we had have rescued today.

    Mixed feelings about today.

    Positives

Mannion looked the part today. If he keeps this form he's going to have a savage championship.

I thought Reddin had a good first half and Kilkenny was defintely an offensive threat instead of playing "quarterback"

    Negatives

Defensively in the second half we were baffling. Lethargic, naive and gave far too much space to Kerry. Lazy tackles conceding frees too easy. It's like we left our energy in the dressing room

Despite that the most disappointing thing for me was the stupid lack of discipline that is going to cost us in the Championship. McCarthy was lucky to stay on. I can't believe a player of his experinece is willing to risk numerous off the ball stupid strikes. Philly doesn't need to make the tackles with a closed fist. He's setting himself up for a red. Dermo done a dermo. Even Fenton was at silly stuff

Thats the part Gavin needs to sort out before the championship

It's been coming for a while. Forwards so poor today but ball in was awful. Maybe Kerry have sussed us out.

But all in all we were poor and still nearly pulled it out of the bag. Great bunch of lads

Poor performance. Kerry ran the legs off us.

How BB finished the game is an absolute mystery to me but it highlights the area where Dublin are deteriorating. Our forwards used to expose the likes of Fionn Fitzgerald in one on one battles. Now, physically, he seems to have the upper hand. Mannion came on and did what Andrews, Kev Mc and Brogan used to routinely do....run at and expose his man. The difference he made was startling. I know some of them are heroes but we've too many men in their late twenties/early thirties in the forwards. Mayo exposed a lot of these frailties the last serious game we played but sheer doggedness got us over the line. Can't last. Time marches forward. Hope we see the likes of C O'Callaghan and Mannion grab it by the bollox come the summer.

Kerry worked out McMahon too. Gone are the days of wasting a forward chasing him. He works hard up and down the pitch but i'd much prefer a corner back who believes stopping his man is his primary job. Without Bastick (and Connolly even though most don't appreciate that part of his game) we're suddenly vulnerable to runners coming through the middle. I was beginning to believe the hype about Cian and the magic sweeper role. Nah knew it was bull****. Maybe a switch of O'Sullivan for McMahon is on order. O' Sullivan is a tenacious man marker and McMahon has all the football in him to play like Ger Brennan used too from 6. Too obvious??????

Are we a bit lightweight around the middle? I like our running game but we couldn't compete with Moran in the air or the tackle. And I'm not suggesting starting McAuley again, good impact sub for sure but too clumsy over 70 minutes.

Corny, I wouldn't write off all of our forwards due to age but I don't think our forward line puts great fear into the opposition. Bernard isn't near what he used to be. I'm not saying he doesn't have a role to play, but I don't like him starting every week. Dean Rock from open play has never really been a guy to take on his man and threaten every time he gets the ball. Andrews had a bad day but I like him as a footballer, he's a very strong target man and is usually good for 2-3 points. Kev Mc only played 15 minutes today, he has a lot to offer Dublin. But I don't believe we have a standout inside forward who'll terrorise the defence. Not like McManus, McBrearty, like Geaney did to us today, or like Bernard used to do to every team.

And to the guy who asked me, I'd like to see more of Mannion. He has some real pace and a very accurate left foot. He has a weird style of play but if he scores I won't care. Also, where is Cormac Costello?

An awful 20 minutes, some strange calls, some cracking scores from kerry and still it takes a last minute free hitting the post for us to lose.

Agree with most of what has said but This will stand to us. More confident then ever of the big three

I would have preferred a bigger loss the be honest. Very nearly pulled the game back. Better team won and it was the 20 minutes after the break that did it. I thought Daly had a particularly poor day and the kerry boys had their shooting boots on. Good luck to them.

A bigger difference would give a bigger wake up call.

The better team won. Had we leveled and won in extra time it would be papering over the cracks.

I'll welcome Cooper and McCaffery back.
