    Stephen Byrne sounded very at home doing the Saturday afternoon slot today, no mention of Ruth at all.

    Indeed and if Ruth has gone, she was with the station the exact same amount of years as both Fenton and Lang, 18 years.

    yes but she had a spell with 89fm for around 2 years in early 00's

    2FM presenters stopped mentioning them leaving or having going away programmes around 10-15 years ago, with the odd exception recently (like Hector, John Clarke)

    My fear is that Will Leahy will be next (with 2FM since Aug 1996), seems to have someone filling in for him most weekends.

    he did indeed and so did T. Fenton. Though leaving programmes are getting rare.

    Surprised Ruth Scott didnt announce her departure, given her length of time there. I suppose times have changed and these events are no longer significant.

    Interesting to see that Stephen Byrne and Blathnaid Treacy have finished up their work on RTE Two. She said on her Instagram that something new and exciting was happening for the two of them together.

    They were on over Christmas together so wouldn't surprise me if they popped up on 2FM somewhere...

    The 7/9am weekend breakfast slot hasn't had a permanent host rostered since Colm Hayes left last July, indeed 2fm weekend breakfast hasn't had a long-term stable host since Dave Redmond got axed around 2009. It's no wonder The Alison Curtis show on Today fm is so successful

        That was aifric O Connell and she is excellent at what she does. She's the voice of 2fm in the promos you hear.

        i thought larry's fill-in was the female who does weekend breakfast (emma power???) !!!!

        since the re-launch, it is very difficult to tell the female and male stand-in presenters from the others on 2fm. they all sound the same.

        I don't think Emma does weekend breakfast. She does have a show on RTE pulse on Friday from 4-6pm and she's the BCO of eogan McDermotts weekday show.
